How many make it to day 5

How many fertilised embroys make it to day 5 ? Is it quite a drop off?
I have only 3 :( I'm worried they won't make it since I turned 38 in July too.

@LoveYouHoneyBadger I had 2 eggs collected and 1 made it to day 5 and frozen. And then on a previous cycle I got 4 mature eggs which led to day 3 and day 5 frozen so there is still a good chance with 3 eggs

Oh and I'm 38 too

Obviously it can very from person to person but also cycle to cycle. In Jan I had 7 eggs fertilised but none made it to blastocyst stage, we were devastated. This cycle we had only 4 fertilised but got 3 day 5 blastocysts, 2 high quality and 1 average quality. Currently in the very early stages of pregnancy anxiously waiting for my first scan next week. I should have mentioned I am 37 too.

I was 34, severe male factor so we expected a drop off after day 3 when male gene takes over. To our delight 7 eggs became 7 embryos, all made it to day 5 then one slowed down, so we got 6 top and good graded embryos. Fresh transfer didn't take but frozen one did. All the best for your round x

First round I had 3 eggs, 3 at day 3 and 1 blastocyst at day 5.

Second round I had 10 eggs, 9 at Day 3. 4 blastocyst day 5.

Meant to add I am 40. No other factors on either me or partner other than age. AMH was 13.4 x

Seven out of thirteen made it to day five (across two rounds) and three came back from genetic testing as normal
