Follicle 22mm day of trigger

Just curious your thoughts . I only have 8 follicles and from searching on Google it seems to suggest my follicles will be over mature. A few were 22mm on day of trigger which was yesterday. Retrieval is booked for tomorrow

@MK85 did you have some below 22mm? Only reason I ask because a mature follicle from what I understand can be in a follicle sized 15mm and above. Bear in mind the follicles will still likely be growing from the last stimulation injection too, I think the trigger is the final maturation injection if I understand it correctly

Hi, I think 22mm is a good size at trigger day for IVF. I know most clinics trigger when 3 follicles at or greater than 17/18mm but from the research I’ve done, 22mm is a good size and likelihood of a mature egg is higher, as well as successful fertilisation. I wouldn’t push much higher than 22mm but I’ve let mine go to 23/24mm in the past too, to get the maximum number between 14mm and 23/24mm. This worked well for me with predictable number of mature eggs, fertilisation and blastocysts. Everyone’s different though. Good luck.
