I'm baffled at my consultant. Yesterday was my final scan and she couldn't be bothered to count every follicle and size them. She only counted 3. Last week different consultant counted 9 and told me size range. Then she ran away to see next patient. I've retrieval in morning. I asked her how many follicles ( only have 1 ovary) and she said I'd say a good 6.
What does she mean a good 6? Is it really that difficult to count 6 follicles.
Does she mean exactly 6 or at least 6 ?

Hi, I think it's hard for them to know and unfortunately people get hooked on a number. My clinic are good with counting but also setting expectations.
On my first scan all follicles were counted and measured to track growth, second the same there was about 19 but some of those hadn't grown from the first scan or smaller ones had popped up that were unlikely to mature.
On the scan before trigger I had 8 follicles that were at the size for retrieval and a other small ones. They didn't count them as my clinic wouldn't collect from them as they would be immature eggs.
It was made me clear to me that they would retrieve from any of a mature size but not all may contain an egg. I came out with 7 eggs.
