Implantation Bleeding Success Stories

Hi there lovely community of fertility warriors, sending love to you all.

I’d be interested to hear from anyone who ever experienced the ever elusive implantation bleeding then went on to have a successful pregnancy.
If it happened to you, at what point in your cycle did it? How long did it last? What did it look like? Was it before or after your BFP? Did you experience any other symptoms at the same time? Did you have any further bleeding in the pregnancy after that and everything still turned out ok?

If anyone could share their experiences please I’d be immensely grateful 🙏 ❤️🙏

Following! I often spot for about half a day / a day a week or so before my period and every month convince myself it’s implantation bleeding but no luck so far… 🤞

For a little more context, I have been pregnant 5 times, 4 natural, 1 IVF all of which sadly ended in loss. The first two pregnancies were around 2 years ago, the first one ended up in spontaneous MC at 6 weeks and the second one was a chemical kind of (I had a clear positive the first day in my missed period than started bleeding heavily and had a period after about 36 hours, tested again a week later and was negative). Looking back through my cycle tracker I registered spotting around 7-9 dpo of each of those 2 cycles and I was definitely pregnant then. No IB recorded for the other two natural ones and both ended up in MMC and IVF was a chemical. So no consistency whatsoever from my own personal experience

@clhiu God I’m so sorry to hear about your losses, I can’t imagine what you’ve been through. From online research I know that spotting can be a sign of low progesterone and obviously progesterone is needed to sustain a pregnancy, so I don’t know if there’s any chance it could be related to that? Hoping you get your baby soon 🤞

It’s too early to test so I don’t even know if I’m pregnant yet, probably not and this is just AF coming so back again trying next month

Hi @clhiu, I had implantation bleeding when I got pregnant with my DD a few years ago. It was like a light smear of blood on the tissue when I wiped for a couple of days so I thought it was the start of my period, but then it stopped and I got a BFP a few days later. I’m not sure now how many DPO it was though which isn’t very helpful I know!

I got IB around the time or slightly before my period was due. It was like a period but more brown and much lighter. Lasted a few days and I was confused when it began to stop instead of pick up to a heavy bleed
then 1-2 weeks later I got more of the same until about 8 weeks, then another week of it about 14 weeks. Never turned bright red or heavy but there was a lot of it at times and I was convinced at various points I was miscarrying.
apart from the first instance, I don’t think it could of been IB.. questioned a midwife about this at the birth and she said yes it’s common if it’s brown it’s just old blood (shrug)
I think I was low on progesterone and used progesterone supplements.
really put a dampener on my early pregnancy but it all turned out fine

In case anybody comes across this thread and wonders, I wanted to post an update.
I’m having a chemical pregnancy so it’s impossible to know whether it was implantation bleeding (the timing and confirmed implantation however short-lives would suggest that) or the start of the MC as it failed to fully implant.
Spotting continued for 4 days, very light in colour and only upon wiping, at times disappearing completely, but showing up at least once of twice each day so on 10dpo, I started using cyclogest thinking if it was a drop in progesterone that would help. That stopped the spotting completely. On 12dpo, on account of no more bleeding and some pregnancy symptoms I tested and got a positive, but I i knew straight away it was too faint. I retested the following day, same time with FMU and there was no line progression, in fact it was marginally lighter. I left it for another day and stopped the cyclogest, tested again this morning and it was negative. I only took cyclogest 2.5 days and stopped it 2 days ago so wondering why AF hasn’t started yet, especially when I was already spotting last week, but it’s definitely a chemical.
