Cetrotide tips

Morning all,

I started on cetrotide injections last night and it's safe to say I'm not a fan 😂 After two failed goes we finally got it on the third try.

The main problem we had was what we thought were air bubbles. We tried tapping the vial but there still seemed to be some. In the end, we just used the dose anyway as we didn't feel like we could waste another.

I didn't ice up after all the air bubble drama and it was pretty sore so will definitely try icing tonight. Do most people find that pinching the skin helps with the pain?

Finally, I'm a bit worried that there was a tiny amount of liquid left in the little bottle. We couldn't physically get any more of it out but it was literally a drop or two. Do you think that's OK?

My husband is speaking to the clinic today but if anyone has any tips to share I'd really appreciate it.

Are you squirting a little out before Injecting yourself? This should help remove most of the air bubbles. Any remaining bubbles are harmless. I have read that the air takes up more space so they can render medicine less effective but I struggle to entirely rid it of air or a pocket of air at the top altogether.
I don't ice but I do pinch the skin. I grab my fat roll then inject

@MoonlightDreamer I'll try squirting a bit out. That's good to know about the bubbles as well. We'll keep going with the pinching as well, I think we were in such a flap in the end yesterday it was just all of a bit of a disaster. Here's hoping today will be better! Thanks for the reply.

@Londub did your clinic not show you or send you a video on how to administer the injection? That's what my clinic had told me, allow a little bit to squirt out before you use it . The odd little bubble left won't matter they said.
Are you holding it upside down when you suck the liquid back into the syringe?
Check your not swirling it too vigorously aswell. Just very gentle swirl.
Really grab your belly fat tightly when Injecting it

@MoonlightDreamer we did get a video with all of the steps but I think we were so all over the place the first day god knows what we were doing 😂 Thanks so much for all of the tips, last night went much more smoothly. Off for scan no. 3 this morning so hoping to see some progress 🤞🏻
