How to inject myself. Do I put the needle in a little or full way

Utterly stupid question but I was never shown other than a YouTube video. I put the needle in the full way. I'm finding it very uncomfortable and painful and wondering does it have to go in the full way so the syringe top is against your skin or can you just insert the needle a little under the skin say halfway enough to just inject the fluid in

@HowlingAtTheM00n Yes it needs to be the full way in unfortunately. Which injections are they? Some are subcutaneous (which just go in the skin) and some are intramuscular which are very long needles that go into the muscle and those won't work properly if they don't reach the muscle. Try pinching the skin or putting some ice on it first to numb it a bit. Also alternate sides so you aren't injecting the same place each time
