Irregular cycles and low sperm count - time for IVF 🍍

Hi All,

I think what I'm looking for is a bit of hope and hopefully some success stories, I am currently waiting to be accepted by CREATE for an NHS funded cycle, the world of IVF is all so new to me I just want to check if anyone in a similar position has been successful from IVF? I know everyone is different I'm just hoping for a glimpse of positivity!

I have irregular cycles, anywhere from 35-45 days usually, all blood tests and scans came back normal and was told there was no cause for concern, never had a BFP

OH low sperm count <2mil and low morphology

I'm so anxious about starting this journey with what feels like a low chance already, I kind of can't believe it's even got to this point, I really thought it would happen naturally but that unfortunately hasn't happened! 😢

@waitingforourmiracle I didn’t have irregular cycles but low sperm and morphology can be sorted by using ICSI where they just inject the sperm into the egg. We used ICSI and I got my BFP 2 weeks ago.

@JadeAC congratulations!! It must be the most amazing feeling! Was that your first cycle of ivf?

It was yes. We were lucky as we only ended up with one fertilised embryo. They collected 5 but only one made it. It’s still early days but I’m cautiously over the moon.

Hi there. I have irregular cycles (pcos) and we have male factor aswell. Borderline count and poor morphology.
We managed to get pregnant in december but lost it so its definitely possible.
We decided to move on with icsi due to age really and some other factors.
We're due for egg collection next week so unfortunately I can't give a success story as yet

Hello
We were trying for 18 months before we went for IVF ICSI. I have PCOS and my cycles were so irregular, like sometimes wouldn't have one for 3 months. Partner also had very low sperm count (similar to your partner) We had IVF ICISI in April 2021 and it worked first time and our baby was born dec 2021. He will be 2 this December, I still can't believe he's mine to be honest!
Ivf is an emotional rollercoaster so look after yourself. It also doesn't mean it wont happen again in the future naturally. My periods have become regular since having my son.
We are currently ttc #2 and had to shock of my life to get a positive this month. Unfortunately it has ended in early miscarriage at 5 weeks which has been yet another rollercoaster of emotions. But what I'm saying is, you never know what the future holds. Ivf can be very consuming but try and enjoy life as you go through the process! Good luck! Xx

@Swirls346 amazing this gives me so much hope! If I'm honest I am shitting myself about starting but I just need to think about the outcome of hopefully getting our baby! So sorry to hear about your loss this month and good luck with try for number 2!
