Has anyone overweight one ivf? What was your bmi when you went through treatment and was it successful at stimulating follicles.
I am overweight my bmi is 28.
im 5ft3 11 stone 8 pounds. My body fat is high at 36.
Worried this may mean its less successful as I'm on a low dose.
I've worked hard at losing 2 stone since last October and beating myself up that I'm still overweight

My BMI is 32. I only respond from one ovary, but that’s down to having a pathetic dud ovary one one side (as in, no AFC on that one either!). I’ve otherwise responded well to stims and I could certainly be a bit lighter.

Aslong as you are honest about your figures the meds will be tailored to you. They wouldn't offer it if it wouldn't work and also going on any kinda crash diet (not suggesting it btw) before IVF can be more detrimental as when your body goes into diet mode and less calories coming in it diverts the energy from the none vital organs for survival, which for a female is the reproductive system.

My BMI was 31 when starting stims and 32 by then end and I did mild IVF, I got 7 eggs, 7 fertilised, 6 made it to day 2, 5 good quality made it to day 3. I did a day 3 transfer (unfortunately BFN) and by day 5 I got 2 embryos for freezing, another was just under the quality for freezing so I don't feel my weight effected it, yet being a bit lighter may have helped, it's just not always that easy so try not to be harsh on yourself. Also about 6 months before starting treatment I started to introduce full fat products rather than low fat due to research I had done so think for me that kept me at a slightly higher weight.

Good luck with your cycle x

@ThisIsCharlotteYorkGoldenblatt my bmi is 29 and had to loose 3 and a half stone in the run up to treatment to get it down to that. I’m 5ft 11 and 14st 12lbs. I got 5 eggs retrieved and only one fertilised. I am now 5weeks 2 days pregnant from that one embryo so don’t loose hope. It just takes one. I have kept up my healthy eating throughout and haven’t slipped back into old habits. I’m obviously not trying to loose weight at the minute but I’m careful not to go back to over eating either.
