Are cetrotide and Ovitrelle the same ?

We ordered cetrotide from Asda. Just opened it today to prep for the cycle which will start in few days and realised they gave ovitrelle instead. I checked the composition for both cetrotide and Ovitrelle, they look different.

Just wondering if Asda gave us wrong medications instead ? I opened a box to see the instructions 🙄not sure if they will refund now.

Nope, these are def not the same. That's very annoying, hopefully they will refund you as they are not cheap!

No, ovitrelle is a trigger, definitely don't take this if you're stimming. I hope you get it sorted

Hey @biscuitsndtea
Ovitrelle is a trigger shot
And centrotide is to prevent premature ovulation so they are two complete opposites.

I believe cerotide is like Fyremadel (which I used) and should look like a normal injection whereas Ovitrelle (which I did use) is a pen. Ovitrelle is definitely the trigger, so you should only have 1. Cerotide is to stop ovulation and you should have quite a few of these. It's likely you have both on your prescription but like I said, they will look very different and you should have lots of Cerotide, and just 1 Ovitrelle.

I got the ovitrelle pen 😟 Ovitrelle was not on my prescription at all. I thought it was the brand name for cetrotide initially. After reading the replies, I am pretty sure that they gave wrong medication. I will talk to them and sort it out. Thankfully I saw it now rather than later.

@biscuitsndtea how are you feeling? I got my bleed yesterday so I'm all set to start Injections on Thursday

Lebe14 · 08/10/2023 14:50

So annoying @biscuitsndtea :( glad you have some time to sort it out x

This is really worrying to read. The asda team should be more carful. This must be reported to the head office and the regulator. I hope it was refunded.

@MoonlightDreamer i am doing fine. Feeling that i have put on weight. May be due to northisterone? Dont really know. I am waiting for my af to arrive

Good luck for your process :) how are you feeling ?

@MeJulie78 yeah they could have been more careful. But they handled it very well when we reported them about the issue. Its all sorted now :)
