Hi all

I'm on the hunt for anyone else in the same boat. I'm 39 (just!) and on my second ICSI cycle. Had a 5aa transferred today.
By some miracle we have seven more blasts for the freezer (only managed a single fresh and none to freeze on cycle 1).

Anyone want to share their stories or join the dreaded 2ww with me??

Particularly interested to hear from anyone slightly older, like me, who has had success. My age didn't come into last time (38 - or at least it wasn't mentioned) but I've had a birthday since. And seemingly all the embryologists believe that my body knows exactly when my birthday is and immediately goes about destroying my fertility Hmm

Just for info (because I know I always like to see)

Cycle 1 - 15 eggs, 10 fert, 1 blast (BFP but miscarried at 8 weeks (testing of ERPC revealed chromosomal abnormality)
Cycle 2 - 15 eggs, 15 fert, 8 blasts (one popped in today and seven in the freezer)

Wishing you the best of luck.
Did you make you changes that you think helped you achieve better results second time round .
I'm turning 38 before the end of the year and I'm honestly terrified we won't manage to get any / any of quality embryos.
I have pcos and we have male factor also. We starting our first isci cycle in less than two weeks time

I'm a few days ahead of you, on my last embryo. We had 4, fresh transfer resulted in an early miscarriage, frozen transfer failed, the third embryo didn't survive the thaw. So I feel like we've had every outcome except success!

I'm 4 days past transfer today, and feeling ALL the twinges and pulls and cramps, but a) it's probably all in my head; b) it might be from lifting heavy shopping / carrying my toddler; c) it could be good news or bad news.

So really I should stop trying to read into anything but it's SO hard!

How will you spend the next couple of weeks? Are you an early tester? My first round I didn't get BFP until 10dp5dt so I'd like to think I won't test too early this time, but... realistically...

Thanks both.
If anything, we were both a bit less “committed” to all the supplements/diet etc. I even had a couple of glasses of wine.
We tried to subscribe to ‘everything in moderation’ which seemed (so far) to work. (although I’ll be laying off the booze for the foreseeable!)
@RunningOnHope you’re so close to test date!! I have everything crossed for you - hopefully this will be the one!!

At this point in time, I am relatively calm and hoping to hold out to test date. Have had some stabbing pains in my cervix which I am obviously hopeful is of some significance but lord alone knows!!

Keeping fingers crossed for everyone 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🥰🥰🥰

Hi there! I only started IVF when I had just turned 41. I have a female partner and did 3 rounds of egg collection, which were basically «embryo banking ». I think all in all I got about 20 embryos - I had 7 transfers, on the 6th I got pregnant but miscarried at 5 weeks, and on the 7th I got pregnant and am now 27 weeks. I am now 43. I have got everything crossed for you - do keep us posted! Xx

GoldJules · 01/10/2023 23:06

Oh and I basically didn’t have any symptoms throughout - maybe got a bit sick at around 12 weeks - so I wouldn’t read too much into symptoms of lack of them!

RunningOnHope · 02/10/2023 18:54

I caved and tested very early - it's 6dp5dt and there's a definite line!

After an early miscarriage on my first round I'm really aware that it's not definite yet but really pleased for today.

That's exciting!!!! Do share the results of the test you do on test day! Very much hoping all continues to go in a positive direction! x

How are you feeling today @SarahScone? When is OTD for you?

SarahScone · 03/10/2023 09:09

Hi @RunningOnHope i have everything crossed for you!! Let’s hope this little one is sticky sticky sticky!

Im feeling physically absolutely fine but obsessively checking symptoms and googling everything. So annoying the progesterone mimics everything!
OTD is the 12th. The plan is to hold out but we will see xx

@SarahScone symptom spotting is so mind wrecking isn't it? You get so aware of things that are barely there...

I was definitely having symptoms, pulling and twinges and cramps, until the faint test at 6dp5dt. Then nothing... back to very very light twinges today but I might just be imagining it because I so badly want this to work...!

SarahScone · 04/10/2023 12:54

Tell me about it. It’s a bloody minefield.

I have definitely got sensation in low pelvis region but of inconclusive nature! Not sure if it could be described as pulling, perhaps. I always se it described that way but don’t really know what it means. Have you any other way to describe it?

And I’m kind of the same. A couple of days of stabbing pain in cervix and now I’m really not sure. 🤯🤯🤯

Really hope they are positive symptoms for you! Yeah I don't know if pulling is quite the right word. But it wasn't quite the same as cramping, just a light squeezing sort of sensation I guess. I had so many different feelings over those few days.

Today I've got a bit of back cramping, a little pre-periody. And a little twinge low down on the front, a bit like a slightly pulled muscle.

And this evening we got this!

@RunningOnHope YEAH!!!!! Oh that is brilliant news. I am DELIGHTED for you. Lovely little sticky embryo nestling away in there. Remind me when is your OTD??

RunningOnHope · 07/10/2023 09:20

Hey @SarahScone , OTD is tomorrow but sadly I've tested negative today and begun spotting so it's a chemical. Devastated. Really hoping for better things for you!
