Hi ladies hoping for some advice please. We've been TTC several months now, initially off the pill cycles were relatively regular 29 to 32 days thereabouts I think. Last cycle was 65 days and had a lot of pain at times. Got sent for a scan on Friday, pain has receded after becoming acutely severe a few weeks ago (think possibly a cyst that ruptured?). On exam everything looks normal, no evidence of cysts, uterine wall looks normal, scanning tech felt not pcos. However at cd23 there was no dominant follicle. I've only just started using bbt but temps staying pretty low, had a "peak"LH 2/3 days after scan so I imagine very unlikely I've ovulated given no dominant follicle 3 days pre ovulation? But why do I not have any dominant follicles, my understanding is most likely cause is pcos but scanning tech said I wasn't cystic and I'm sure said wasn't polycystic but now doubting it. I am so confused and really want to know there's a way forward. Will contact doctor when get chance around work. Thanks!

Hey 😊 I know TTC can make you worry about everything especially when bodies start deviating from the normal.

How long have you been off of the pill? Sometimes it can take 6 months for cycles to settle down.

No dominant follicle doesn't necessarily mean PCOS. Neither do long cycles. Neither do cystic ovaries! They could indicate it but doesn't mean it definitely is so don't panic and make any assumptions if you can help it.

It's not unusual if you are experiencing longer cycles to have more than one LH surge where your body might try to ovulate but not actually do it. You might still ovulate in the coming days.

Hi @IVFKinster thanks so so much for replying to this and offering some reassurance. I still haven't had AF, now 53 days into this cycle but hopefully something will happen soon. Thanks again for answering :)
