Hi, I am 42 yrs old (will be 43 in December). I just had my last FET at CRGH in London, which failed. I am not ready to give up, but I can't afford CRGH prices, i am looking for inexpesieve IVF clinic either UK or abroad. Does anybody have recommendations, if you went abroad how did it work with scans, meds, etc., did you have to stay there for few weeks or were you flying for each appointment? Any advise is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi @EmmaM750 I am also 43 and have a daughter through IVF but then our last two frosties failed to implant and so we are starting again with another egg retrieval. We are going to Reprofit in Brno - it's vastly cheaper than the UK, even with the travel etc. I should be starting stims tomorrow and they've made the whole process very easy - you can have private scans done in the UK and they send your prescription to a UK service as well.

I looked at Spain too because they had very good success rates, but they were almost as expensive as the UK!

Hi, thank you for this recommendation. I will look it up. How do u organise scans in the UK? Having them than here rather than flying for every scan would be much more convenient.

There are two companies that I've found and both seem versed in the IVF-abroad thing and so they basically just do the same scan that you would have had in a clinic. I think they mostly do baby scans for people who want extra pictures/3D scans etc so be warned that the places have lots of teddies and pictures of babies in case that's in any way triggering!

You can just book online and they send you a report by email which I send to my clinic in Brno.

Hi @EmmaM750 @loulamay sorry to jump in with more questions, I’m also really curious about IVF abroad…it’ll be our first round after TTC for about 2 years. @loulamay How long would you need to be abroad for if you can have scans in the UK? And are you able to share approx costs? Thanks

We're only going out for the one scan followed by egg retrieval so I think about 5 or 6 days? There was a website I found where you can download a guide comparing all of the different European options and it gives you a price estimate for each place.

Oh that’s great, thank you! It sounded disruptive when I first considered it but 5-6 days will be a nice trip and it takes the pressure off not being at work throughout. Thanks for the link, super helpful. Best of luck with your treatment
