5% chance of Success

Hi Everyone!

I'm looking for some hope and positivity!

Background...I'm 37 with low AMH and poor responder to IVF. I've had 2 failed cycles. Last 2 cycles only retrieved 2 eggs which resulted in 1 embryo put back day 3. Usually on short protocol. Also my partner does have best sperm with poor morphology and motility.

This is my last chance and was told it was only a 5% chance of success. Not feeling very optimistic at all!

Looking for some tips/advice to improve chances on this last cycle. And any success stories greatly welcomed.

Good luck to you all!

Hi @TTCRose - we have also been quoted a 5% chance. My AMH is 0.6 with a low AFC. Sadly my first transfer has just failed but trying to remind myself, if we can make one embryo and get to transfer, we can make another one. And a failed cycle is a chance to learn and tweak to improve the next one hopefully.

our consultant did say that if we got to transfer, our chances were as good as anyone else’s. I have just started taking NMN supplements - they’re expensive but meant to be good for egg quality so I figured it was worth a shot!

I will also be asking for Lubion injections and clexane for my next transfer to maximise implantation chances.

Sending lots of love and hoping for a successful next round for you xx

@MrsMotts

Thanks for your reply.
My AMH has improved slightly with taking co enzyme. Was 5 something now 8.5 but I think only have 3 follicles they can see on TVS.

Did you get a to 5 day transfer?
In NHS so doubt I'd get any 'extras' to help with implantation.

@MrsMotts how does Lubion and Clexane help ? I started NMN this week too. This will be our 6th EC, no transfers so far.

Do you know if men can NMN too and benefits ?

TTCRose · 17/09/2023 13:04

Where do you busy these from NMN supplements from and what doses etc...

@TTCRose ive bought mine from British Supplements online (after recommendation on here) Their marketing is a bit “conspiracy theory of big pharma” which would normally put me off tbh but figured I’d rather go with a recommendation and the ingredients list is pretty clean. I think the dose is 743mg or something f random like that. What I’ve read, there is some limited evidence it can help sperm fertilise more efficiently so I’ve stuck hubby on them too. They’re generally good for health anyway so either way they’ll be doing him some good 🤣

@Rosequartzz i don’t think I absorbed enough progesterone from the pessaries so lubion is added for some women on top of the pessaries to ensure your levels are high enough to support implantation. I had literally zero side effects from the pessaries - no sore boobs no bloating. I was using them via rectum as I felt like too much came back out vaginally, but I have an inflammatory bowel disease too which I think could impact my absorption.

There is some evidence that women with recurrent failed implantation may have micro - embolisms causing the embryo to fail to implant so blood thinners can help with that (they’re usually stopped at week 10 - 12) Basically - I want to throw everything at the wall and hope something sticks 🤣 It’s worth asking your NHS consultant if they think it would be helpful, or if you could pay for the meds on private prescription if they don’t provide as standard. I’m so sorry you’ve not reached transfer yet - and keeping everything crossed for your next one.

I had 3 follicles and my right ovary wasn’t seen at baseline, but then it showed up after stims! We got 4 follicles but one couldn’t be reached. Collected 3 mature eggs, but only one fertilised normally but that made it to day 5 so transferred 2 weeks ago, but failed and AF has arrived this morning. ❤️

Sorry the “asking your NHS consultant” was aimed at @TTCRose - similar usernames 🤣

Anyone having any success with nmn?

Thanks

Hi ladiEs

it may also be worth trying acupuncture and daily walks. I added acupuncture to my last cycle (twice a week sessions during the stims and once between trigger and EC)
there is a special session before / close to ET as well that my acupuncturist recommends. 😊 best of luck to all x x
