I'm doing this for a few years and still going as we TTC our second and I'm still learning!
I do believe (and stand open to correction), that frozen embryo transfers have a slightly higher success rate than fresh. I believe this is because the body has been allowed to recover from the high dose of stims from the retrieval. That being said, I have definitely heard of successful pregnancies from a fresh transfer. But there are just so many factors at play including quantity and quality of embryos, age, any known factors contributing to your infertility, it's hard to call your chances of success.
We are TTC No2 now using our remaining embryos and have had a much more difficult journey than TTC our first. From starting IVF to falling pregnant with my daughter was 8 months. We have been TTC No2 for 13 months using our frozen embryos and have had a chemical, 2 miscarriages, surgery and we lost one embryo that didn't thaw. I naively thought we would have a second with relative ease after our DD that this has hit me hard. We are down to our last embryo.
IVF is rough. There are no rules, no guarantees, and very little is in your control. Just look after yourself, don't blame yourself when things go wrong, and take everything one little step at a time xx
