Secondary infertility ivf

Hi I am currently experiencing secondary infertility. I have a 3 year old who was conceived very quickly and I have been trying for nearly 2 years. I am almost 37 so thinking of giving ivf a try. Thinking of testing the embryos also but I don’t have unlimited funds to do so for multiple rounds which is a concern. I’ve had a few tests (Amh is good, hycosy was fine and sperm test DH did was good apparently). I have had one miscarriage in the last 2 years due to chromosomal abnormality. I keep speculating about the cause of my infertility and assuming it is poor egg quality . I did have an infection after childbirth which was treated with antibiotics wondering could this also be a factor. Just wondering if anyone reading this has experienced something similar and had success with ivf.

I am sharing your experience. I am 40. I have a 2cyr old beautiful boy thst came so easy to us. Been trying for 16 months now, had 1 mc in Jan 2023 and a mc in early 2021. My amh is 14.5. Partners sperm count is good.
I have had 3 cycles of 5mg letrozole.
I have had a hsg flush scan.
I am 12 days past iui and I have blood test on this Monday but not feeling too hopefully.
Finding this very difficult.
I am thinking of ivf but I need to get more info on it

@Deedoll1982 Thank you for sharing your experience I appreciate it. When did you have the hsg ? My mmc was in the cycle immediately following my hsg which was normal and not a peep since not even a chemical either before or after that mmc. I was considering iui also but I am thinking till just skip it and go straight to ivf at this stage. Hard to know what to do. Wishing you lots of luck with your blood test. Hopefully you will get one that sticks soon without ivf

I had hsg in July....... its a minefield, isn't it?? The doctor mentioned that during my iui that I had a really tight cervix, I wonder is this a problem people have?
My mc was in Jan I was 6 weeks, I was really unwell after it.
How long does a cycle of ivf take?

@Deedoll1982 no clue about how long a cycle takes my assumption is a month but I could be totally wrong. Hopefully if the tight cervix is the issue iui will solve it. I’ve done so much speculating about my problem is. Unfortunately I don’t think there is any way of knowing for sure. Hope the iui solves your issue. It’s reassuring that you conceived a 2 year old easily. My child is over 3 so over 4 years since i conceived him. I can’t believe how quick my fertility has declined cos I’ve been trying for nearly two years and I was trying for him for about two weeks !

It is really frustrating.... I completely understand.... its the lack of control on it and doing everything we can that just worked before...but it's not happening

@Deedoll1982 oh no sorry to hear that it’s so disappointing when af arrives. Will you try another iui ?
