Hi,
Looking for some advice/to find out if anyone is in the same position.
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 13 months now. I have been using clear blue ovulation kit and cheap opks for the last 6 months. We have been to see our GP and had all initial tests done, mine are all normal and I ovulate every month fairly regularly according to the ovulation kits. Husband has had x2 semen samples, first result was 0.7 volume and 26.3 million sperm count. Second was 1.3 volume and 158 million sperm count. With the first sample he did say he was stressed and didn’t know what to expect so maybe discount that. In between the first and second sample he has been taking men’s daily vitamins which include zinc and cod liver oil.
Does anyone know if the volume of sperm could be a factor even though sperm count and everything else is normal? I know a normal sperm volume is 1.5 so it’s not much lower. We are both really healthy and are 35 I cannot see what else the problem could be?
If anyone has any suggestions/experienced this please let me know. I’ve read that maca root can help this so my husband is going to start taking that. We are being referred through nhs to the fertility specialist but the waiting list is 7 months! Also does anyone know if IVF is an option with low semen volume?
