Hsg procedure showed blocked tube but just got a positive pregnancy test

Last month I had a HSG procedure done to test whether my one remaining tube (other removed due to ectopic in December 2022) was functioning properly and the dye didn’t spill all the way through the tube so was told it’s blocked and due to have my first appt with an IVF consultant tomorrow.
my period is due about now (today but think I ovulated slightly eariler this month so maybe yesterday) but no signs of it yet, so I did a test this morning and it’s come back positive. I’m about 17dpo.

so now I’m petrified that the pregnancy must be in the tube. I didn’t have any symptoms of my last ectopic apart from bleeding.

Has anyone had experience of getting pregnant after they have been told they have blocked tubes?

I will be letting my Dr know today and getting an early scan but I’m really scared I’m going to have to go through an ectopic again 😭 I wasn’t told by the Dr to not continue to try and conceive and it never dawned on me to ask as I thought my chances were nil via natural route.

Hi @toddle19 , I’m no big expert here and don’t want to give you false hope, but surely if the tube is blocked so that even the dye wouldn’t go through, then I’m thinking probably neither the sperm would so maybe your tube wasn’t blocked afterall. Those tests can never be 100% accurate so I’m really hoping that’s the case with you. Send all the luck in the world with your scan and that it’s a viable pregnancy x
