Behind in IVF pregnancy, trying to get through the wait!

Our IVF pregnancy started well but we ended up being monitored closely as our HCG was slow rising, and we had to go in for an early ultrasound to confirm location as I was having pain on one side.

Thankfully baby is in the right spot but it has shown we are unfortunately 8 days behind. I am supposed to be 6 weeks 3 days but ultrasound showed only 5 weeks 2 days. We did see a heartbeat at 101, but couldn’t hear as everything was so very small.

We are now once again doing the waiting game as our next scan is in a week. I am hoping for a miracle but also well aware things aren’t great for us. Has anyone been in a similar situation good or bad?

Fingers crossed for you @Ellebee12

I’m going to be honest and say I was in a similar boat and sadly it didn’t work out. A week later the heartbeat had reduced to 74 and then we had to wait another week to find there wasn’t a heartbeat.

All very sad BUT… I was going mad on goggle during this time and there are loads of positive stories out there with babies measuring small initially then catching up.

I was unlucky and will try again 💪🏻

I measured about 6-8 days behind in my IVF pregnancy at the start for a while
Was so confusing because I knew exactly when she was transferred but honestly when they are measuring at this stage babies are sooo small and the room for error in measuring is large. It's mm and one tiny one can make a big difference

Thank you @FiddleLeaf for your reply and sorry for your loss. We are preparing ourselves for the worst but hoping for a miracle at the same time, but we know it doesn’t look good. We have an ultrasound booked in next week

Thanks for your reply @pinksheetss. When did bubs catch up? Was your fertility specialist concerned at all? Our clinic is pretty certain we will find out at our next ultrasound which way this will go

She caught up at about half way and then started to measure ahead! I think there was only one scan I had where she was measuring exactly as she was meant to

She's a perfectly healthy 20 month old now :)
