Has anyone had a 2nd baby with donor eggs?

I have been lucky enough to have my DD at 41 after 3 cycles of IVF even though I was given a fairly low probability of success. I am considering the option of trying for a 2nd one with donor eggs since I would be 2 years older and it would really increase the chance of success and reduce the worry about chromosomal abnormalities. Has anyone had one child with your own eggs and a second with donor eggs? Did it work out for you and did you feel any differently about them? I don't think it would bother me since I don't think genetics matter for bonding and my family background it not too great anyway (lots of cancer etc).

That's great that you wouldn't be bothered by their genetics but I have to be honest that the children (now young adults) who are donor conceived and their siblings aren't are really struggling to come to terms with it and it has led to a lot of resentment.

@usererror99 Have you got a link to evidence to support that? If that is actually the case I am interested in reading more.

@wishIwasonholiday10 as someone who is currently experiencing secondary infertility I am also considering options. I know how it feels to be desperate for your child to have a sibling. The last comment was very vague and unhelpful. Sorry I don’t have any experience myself but I do know families where there is one biological child and one adopted which is kind of similar, and there are no issues. There can be issues and resentment in families regardless of genetics

@wishIwasonholiday10 I have a friend who did this and definitely doesn't feel any differently towards their second child. There is a group with a Facebook page. I think it's called the UK donor network. Have a google and best of luck. Btw I had my first at 41 and my second from an embryo collected from me age 44 but it was a tough journey. Donor could be a better choice! X
