Not sure partner being honest with sperm results

Hi, my oh went for sperm analysis 4 weeks ago. Doctors called him today & basically said they couldn't get any readings (unsure what this means) there was plenty on sperm in the cup as I saw it. My partner has told me the doctors said they couldn't read it & to re do the test in 8-12 weeks.. does this seem right to you guys or am I over thinking?
I've come to my own conclusion that he's been told he's either got no sperm or very low which would make sense as to why they said retest in 8-12 weeks & maybe he doesn't want to upset me yet?
I also asked if I could pay for a private appointment & would he come he said no?
Going out of my minds tbh I'd just like to know what the doctor actually said! 🙁

We have no idea whats going on with your partner. You need to ask HIM these questions!

@dol89 they may not have been able to get results if the sample got too cold. This can massively affect results and they would have to repeat it again. (I know this happens as I’m a vet and have experience in semen analysis in non-human animals obviously!) of course there also may be lab error ie. Mislabelled or not properly processed!
