Anxious wait between BFP and first scan

Anyone else in the second horrible wait after an embryo transfer? I’m currently 6 wks today and got my first scan due in a week. I’m feeling more paranoid/anxious now coming up to when I miscarried my last transfer.

would be nice to have some others in a same position waiting to hear if viable or not …. Eek makes me scared!

@Ellenn there are many studies regarding thr gradings, and it isnt about whether they are A, B or C, but 3, 4 or 5, as male embryos develop faster at the earlier stages. a 5 embryo is 72% more likely to be a boy, whereas a 3 is 60% more likely to be a girl (based on live births).

Obviously, that still leaves 28% of girl 5s and 40% of boy 3s! Just a stat.

What I read about HCG said it was basically an old wives tale, coupled with symptoms being more likely this, or that!

@ASGIRC not sure if it’s necessarily true for embryos made through ICSI though I think it’s unknown! Overall ICSI is skewed towards girls and IVF screwed towards boys! Don’t think it’s by much though, we will have to wait and see 👀

@ASGIRC that's interesting to know. We didn't get told a grade for our embryo in numbers and letters. We were just told its a top grade embryo and was already hatching.

@Ellenn did you say you have a scan tomorrow? How are you feeling about it?

@Belle26 Hatching is a 5 or 6, so more likely to be a boy, according to studies!

That's pretty cool to know! Only time will tell I guess. Getting to that point of being able to find put the gender feels like a lifetime away 😂
Waiting for my 7 week scan has been torture and I still have a week left to wait!

@Belle26 Oh man, those 3 weeks were the LONGEST! They felt insurmountable at first!!
But this last week will go by in a flash (apart from, like, the last day, which will DRAG!).

I have my second scan tomorrow afternoon. Ive managed to convince myself its going to be bad news... Even though there is no good reason to think that.

Im hoping that if it is as it should be, I will feel more relaxed, butwho knows how long that will last!

Eek yes I’m super nervous for tomorrow. I’ve actually been really busy at work so I’ve not had time to think about it much which is probably a good thing.

had some cramps this morning like a proper period and I was worried I would end up bleeding. Just a little brown when I wiped once though? Tbh I probably wouldn’t have noticed it if I wasn’t absolutely scrutinising the toilet paper 🤣🙈

argh will see not long to wait now
