First Two week wait following FET

Looking for some wait buddies. Finally made it far enough to have a two week wait - I’ve read about these for the last 3+ years and now, 24 hours after transfer I’m itching to wish away the next 10 days!! Any advice appreciated (and good news stories) xx

Welcome @DauntedAF. When is OTD? Are you on a medicated cycle? If so meds mess with period timings anyway I think. I'd have thought you'd get a result from afternoon urine so long as you've held for a bit. How are you feeling? I had no symptoms with my first successful transfer either other than some brown discharge day before OTD (which made me assume it hadn't worked)!

@Belle26 exciting it was already hatching! Sounds like it was ready to go! I read somewhere you are 4 x more cycle to have multiples through IVF even if they only put one embryo back 😱 so it could be?! Not sure of the mechanics behind that. I can't lie, twins would be a nightmare for us but I'm aware of the risk. Ideally one and one only please! 😂

Belle26 · 11/08/2023 09:56

Hi @DauntedAF that's so exciting. I hope you get your bfp. How are you feeling about it?

@SErunner 🙈🙈 twins sounds terrifying, but what's meant to be will be 😂

I'm having really bad cramps which is making me a littler nervous. I don't know if it's normal or not. I feel like my period is coming and my lower back is aching. Has anyone else been having cramps? I honestly don't think I'm going to be able to relax until after 20wks 🫠

SErunner · 11/08/2023 10:11

I've had cramps and backache with my successful and unsuccessful transfers. It's really normal and not indicative of anything wrong. The anxiety is such a pain. I did relax a bit after our 7 week scan and then again more after 12 weeks. Looking up the statistics of miscarriage once a heartbeat is detected at 7 weeks is actually very reassuring - can't remember them right now though!

DauntedAF · 11/08/2023 12:55

So I was the same OTD as you @Ellenn but needed to change it and they'd no bother moving it a day earlier. Might be worth you asking?

That sounds promising re the nausea

Gonna hold out til tomorrow morning to test. Feck it. I've got this far

ASGIRC · 11/08/2023 14:00

OMG twins would be such a nightmare!! (Im single!!) But at the same time... One and done? 😂

Fingers crossed to those of you waiting for BFP!!!

Ellenn · 11/08/2023 16:00

@DauntedAF yes you can do it! Keep us updated, let’s hope we both have some embryos hanging in there.

no idea if nausea related or not or just in my head 🤷‍♀️ on my last transfer I felt sick from 4 weeks too so maybe it is a symptom. Won’t know until I get my result back 🫣

Belle26 · 12/08/2023 10:00

@SErunner that's actually really nice to hear, I think we always hear the negative stories and they got stuck in our head. My friend yesterday said something like 1 in 5 pregnancies end in MC which sounds scary but that actually means 80% of pregnancies don't end in MC! Which is a much better way of thinking about it.

@ASGIRC 😂 twins would be scary

Today is 7dp5dt, I can't believe my transfer was a week ago. I did my treatment in Spain, to think a week ago I was in the sunshine is mental. This week has dragged 🙈😂 I did also get a really good definite test this morning so now I'm trying to chill out a little. What will be will be now

SErunner · 12/08/2023 10:46

Fingers crossed for you @DauntedAF

And of those @Belle26 the majority will be pre a heart beat being present ie before 6/7 weeks, even if the bleed doesn't start until later. It's about a 5% likelihood from 7/8 weeks and then less than 2% after 12 weeks. Glad you're feeling a bit more confident with your line, hope things continue to progress well.

@Ellenn how are you doing today? My sickness started around 6 weeks last time and god it was awful. Not sure how I'd manage it again with a toddler to be honest but obviously hope that's a problem I have to solve!

Ellenn · 12/08/2023 12:24

@SErunner unfortynately not looking that great my hcg levels were 55 that was taken on 9dp5dt so think it would likely be a biochemical 😭 I wish my body would stop letting embryos implant if they aren’t actually going to work. I will try and get another hcg if my urine test on Tuesday is still positive but I’m not really hopeful

SErunner · 12/08/2023 12:31

I'm so sorry to hear this @Ellenn. I don't do betas so don't know what normal levels should be at that point? Thinking of you x

ASGIRC · 12/08/2023 13:40

@SErunner usually anything over 100 is considered good.

Below 10 is negative, between 11 and 25 is a grey area, over 25 is a definitive positive, but obviously 55 is pretty low...

My beta at 9dpt was 335.

But, as I told Ellen, I know of someone who also tested on 9dpt and had a 16, 48h it was 29, 48h later is was in the 200s and 48h later in the 500s and it turned out to be viable.
So it could just be that it implanted late and is still fighting.

But particularly when it has happened before, I can understand how disheartening it must be..

DauntedAF · 12/08/2023 14:07

Hey folks. So defo have a line which is great

Kinda got in my own head about the fact the line isn't as strong as id have liked. This is one of the reasons I don't test early. But the line is defo there anyway and it says "pregnant" on the digital one. So just hoping tomorrow when I test again it's stronger

Gosh it's such a mind melt isn't it. Even when you get good news it's always scary/tainted where fertility is concerned

Belle26 · 12/08/2023 15:57

@Ellenn try not to worry too much it could just be a late implanter and is growing fine. I've been on a deep dive research and HCG usually doubles every 48-72 hours so don't count yourself out.

@DauntedAF that's great congrats!! It sounds very much positive to me. This whole journey is a mind fk isn't it?! You get good news and yet you still can't rest or be happy.

Ellenn · 12/08/2023 16:18

@DauntedAF thats great 😊that’s what I hate about urine tests you just end up getting obsessed with it all! I was hoping I would get a nice number or a negative from the beta and now unfortunately my worst fear has become a reality 😳

@Matilda27 thanks but I think I need to prepare for the worst as I think for positive outcomes/live births normally you would like 100+ at that stage

does anyone know if the clearblue weeks indicator tests correlate well/are reliable with hcg measurement? I thought that might be an easier way of seeing if levels are rising as I think above around 150 you get 2-3 wks?

Matilda27 · 12/08/2023 16:31

@SErunner how are you feeling now a few days in? :)

OP posts:
ASGIRC · 12/08/2023 17:19

@Ellenn yeah, the digital is 10 for 1-2 weeks, 150 for 2-3 weeks and 2700+ for 3+ weeks
And those are weeks from conception, not pregnancy weeks.

SErunner · 13/08/2023 06:48

Good news @DauntedAF! Tentative congrats!

@Ellenn it's still very early? Appreciate it must be tough to be positive with your history though and that preparing for the worst can help. Using the clearblue to gauge it sounds a good idea.

@Matilda27 I'm okay thanks. I find the first half of the wait okay, just lose my mind in the last few days! I'm 3dp today, am having cramps on and off but nothing bad. As I mentioned, although it means nothing really I'll feel better if I get past 6dp without bleeding as that's when it started becoming apparent our last cycle hadn't worked. How are you?

Ellenn · 13/08/2023 09:30

@SErunner yeh I suppose it is, a few people have told me that actually their clinic says >100 for 12dp5dt but I thought it was 9 days after! I’m going to get a clearblue later and try it and maybe some cheapy ones to see if I can see line getting darker over two days. I’m hoping I can convince my clinic to do bloods on Wednesday 🤞I am still feeling nauseous which is good symptoms haven’t gone but just trying to be neutral about everything and not get my hopes up tbh

im the same with the 2ww the first week is much easier to deal with, was really struggling last two days knowing I’m going to find out. I also had quite a bit of cramping day 5/6 after transfer so think it’s a good sign implantation might be happening!

Ellenn · 13/08/2023 18:10

update From me joined the compulsive peeing on sticks 🙈 did a clearblue weeks and came up pregnant quickly and was 2-3 weeks so my levels must be going up

also did a standard one from boots and the line looks ok I think for 12dp5dt although will do another one in a few days to check it’s not getting any lighter. This journey has got to be the worst!

SErunner · 13/08/2023 19:55

That looks good @Ellenn! And great your numbers are going up! Could always have been a late implanted/some do just release less HCG. Really hope things look more positive again in a few days x

Belle26 · 13/08/2023 21:56

That's brilliant news @Ellenn the line looks pretty strong! How are you feeling?

ASGIRC · 13/08/2023 22:58

@Ellenn thats amazing news!!! 2-3 weeks is over 150 hCG, which means your levels have definitely gone up from the 55 on Thursday! Theyve definitely doubled!!!
And that line on the boots test looks absolutely fine!
