Ovulation Scan on Clomid

Hi all, I visited my gynecologist in Harley street yesterday who said I was currently ovulating and my follicle measured 17mm. What I’m really confused about is how have I not had positive OPK and why is my cervix still low 🤨! I usually get a positive OPK every month without Clomid and my cervix is always high during ovulation. Can someone advise? TIA

I would say ovulation should follow in a few days if it's 17mm. I was always told by different doctors the follicle would rupture when it reaches 18mm+

Thank you for your response @MoonlightDreamer . My OPKs have started to get darker today. It just confused me that he said I was ovulating today as there was fluid in the pouch of Douglas and building up with the egg. But my cervix was still low yesterday! FX for tomorrow 🤞🏼

@TTCRainbowBubs the pouch of douglas can fill with free fluid after the rupture of an egg but its also entirely normal to find fluid there and there's many reasons for it and if you haven't had an lh surge yet then ovulation hasn't occured as it's the lh surge that triggers the follicle to burst.
Doctors can't predict exact ovulation date with 100% accuracy. It's just a guess but generally follicles rupture on their own once they reach maturity which is classed as 18mm . Some do grow beyond this even. Once you get your surge of lh , ovulation should then occur within the next 36hrs

Doctors aren't always right. It's an estimate. I've had several scans and at my first scan they even told me I've either ovulated or ill ovulate in the next few days. They can't pinpoint it.
Even at my second scan with a different fertility doctor, even he told me he couldn't tell me if I was going to ovulate or if I'd already ovulated and it was the corpus luteum . It just said I possibly had but cant say for certain and then I had a positive opk the next day so there you go. Its difficult for them to tell this on internal ultrasound. They just take a guess. But like other poster has said, everything I've read and been told is that a follicle will erupt when it reaches 18-20mm . It needs to be 18mm minimum i belive to trigger your lh hormone. Unl3ss rhey are offering you a trigger shot to release it sooner then it won't rupture until its mature and ready.

Fluid discharges into the douglas pouch when the follicle has already ruptured .So either yours has already started rupturing which I doubt as you haven't had a surge yet. Its impossible to ovulate without a lh surge. Its normal to see fluid or blood here. Hs obviously just assumed it's because your follicle rupture but he's wrong. It will rupture once you surge lh. Unless your surge is sup3r fast and you missed it then I think you've yet to ovulate

Thank you both for your response @Kosmickk @MoonlightDreamer I have done a PDG test which has confirmed I have ovulated but I’m still none the wiser when it actually happened as I had tonnes of EWCM all week last week my cervix started to rise Thursday and I’ve had sore nipples since then and brown discharge (sorry TMI) yesterday so don’t know if that’s a good sign or not but here’s my LH tests. I never really did get a surge. CD13 was when he said he could see ovulation (I think the tests were low on CD13 LH and I forgot to upload them) but that week I only really got a “high” xx

I'm in a very similar situation to you, did you end up doing the BD, how long did your surge last?

My LH surge has been really high consistently all day today, I'm in cycle one of Clomid (50mg).

My day 11 follicle scan showed 12 and 18 mm follicles, one in each ovary.

I'm on day 13 and it feels like I'm about to ovulate.

My normal ovulation day is day 12, it seems to have moved to day 14.

That sounds promising! I think I ended up ovulating on cd15 because my nipples started to get sore on CD16. We were told to BD every other day do that’s what we did xx I didn’t end up having a really high surge.., mine only reached .75 on Premom app which is unusual for me. Xx
