Low Progesterone

Just looking for some advice. I've been TTC for well over a year now with nothing happening whatsoever. My main concern is I have low progesterone. My luteal phase lasts 12 days and every month I get cramping and spotting from around 9dpo. I have my first appointment with the fertility clinic in 2 weeks and I'm concerned that this will be dismissed.

I'm just wondering if anyone has been in the same position and have any advice. Feeling pretty deflated every month, especially as before I started ttc I saw gynaecology about this issue and their advice was to go on the pill.

Im pretty sure you wont be dismissed by a fertility professional.

If you have a look on the IVF/FET threads you will see all of us are on progesterone, sometimes absolutely ridiculous doses! And we will keep taking it until 12 weeks, in case of pregnancy.

So i would say fertility specialist will definitely be concerned with low progesterone, and will, more likely than not, prescribe you some.

Best of luck on your appointment!!!

I suffer with spotting too, normally anything from 7dpo until actual period date. I mentioned this numerous times to my clinic before and during all my transfers but they didn’t seem to think it was an issue and only agreed to up my progesterone this time around as I insisted it be increased.

They have never tested my progesterone levels and previously gave me what I can only assume was their standard dosage.

My progesterone levels are now through the roof so I’m hoping this will help to support a full term pregnancy. Dont be afraid to push for something you think could be helped.

Wishing you all the best.

Thank you both for your advice. I know they will likely do other testing first which will be great to rule anything else out. But I'm pretty sure low progesterone is one of the big issues for me.
