Possible chemical following ivf

I had a FET just over 2 weeks ago (5 day transfer). I tested on official test day 10dpt and got a faint (but very definite) positive on a FRER. I got positive (but faint) tests again on 12dpt and 13dpt. Clinic also got me to do a blood test on 13dpt but this is one which tests whether or not you have hcg rather than the level. This was negative although I did have some trouble doing the blood test so not sure if this might have affected the result. Based on faint lines/negative blood test, I was assuming this was a chemical pregnancy but then tested again and got a strong positive on a clear blue (15dpt). Now I just don’t know what to think! No bleeding/spotting but my worry is that the progesterone I’m taking would be masking the fact I’ve had a chemical. For anyone who has any experience of a chemical after ivf, how did you find out this is what had happened and when might I expect to start testing negative or to get AF?

If it is a chemical, the hCG levels will start going down. I would use the same kind of test, so that you can compare it.

If you are taking progesterone, I assume you wont get your period until you stop it.

In my first transfer I had a biochemical I had positive tests at 10dp5dp I then did a beta blood which was 80 and when I repeated in 48 hrs was still only 80 so knew it wasn’t viable. I stopped the progesterone and I bled at 17dp5t, took a bit for tests to go completely negative. You may have implanted late but only way to get a definite it getting blood tests to confirm levels of hcg aren’t rising or just wait it out 😢

I really hope you have just implanted late and all ok! If your clinic doesn’t do bloods then you can contact your nearest EPU unit who will do them 😊 hope you get your answer soon it’s horrible bring in limbo xx
