Canx cycle what happens to follicle

Hi,

I am currently undergoing mild IVF with create, we have decided to canx the cycle as only one follicle is growing with another a little too far behind to try to mature and collect together so the plan is to try again next month with hopes that there is 2-3 to work with.

Does anyone know what would happen to the follicle that was growing is it a normal egg and would I still ovulate from this follicle this month? Or would this stop growing now that I’ve stopped taking gonal F? Any advice would be appreciated thank you.

Hi @Hope12345678, sorry to hear that was the outcome. I had an abandoned cycle earlier this year due to only having 2 follicles (they thought I may be able to get more which I didn't as I discovered in the next one which led to failed fertilisation)

I was advised it was like a natural cycle and that TTC was still an option naturally. In all honesty though my period was skewed for that cycle and I had high fertility for 6-7 days on clear blue and then eventually peaked (I normally only get 2-3 high fertility days) albeit I did end up starting my AF (was late by a week), so I do wonder if the egg would have been not so great quality due to the high stims

My stims dose was 450 IU hence my concern in relation to quality

Thank you @Sunflower360 im hoping next cycle is better for us. We just wanted to make sure before going for egg collection we tried one more cycle with some lifestyle changes . It’s been a hard day and tough decision but fingers crossed it’s the right one. I’ve spoken to the doctor and they’ve said to try naturally as you never know and my body should ovulate naturally but I won’t hold my breath 😬.

@Sunflower360 Hi, I hope you’re well :) I just wanted to ask when you had your cancelled cycle do you remember if you had a withdrawal bleed? And if so around how many days after did it start - still waiting on mine and might have to go in for a scan to induce AF if it doesn’t start naturally😬, would prefer for it to come naturally

Hi @Hope12345678 I had my withdrawal bleed 11 days afterwards (24 day cycle in the end, mine is usually 28-30 days). It was the period after I was late, ended up being a 34 day cycle but then I suppose that fixed itself as I was early for the withdrawal bleed if that makes sense.

How long has it been for you?

Hope12345678 · 09/08/2023 08:26

It will be 2 weeks tomorrow since I stopped stimms, they did say they would do a scan to check everything and possibly induce a period if needed - would prefer my body naturally did it’s own thing but will see what they say😬, thank you for getting back to me, hope we’re both sharing good news next month 🤞🏽

Hi ladies

How are you getting on? i am in a similar situation - two out of 6 follicles are growing. Rest are too slow to catch up.
do you think the clinic would recommend to cancel in a situation like this? Isn’t it quality over quantity especially for low AFC ladies like myself

appreciate any help / views :) xx

Hope12345678 · 31/10/2023 18:05

Hi @Maria12060 unfortunately from my 3 follicles I only got 1 egg which has resulted in a chemical pregnancy. I think with my low afc and AMH I wasn’t expecting more than 1/2 tbh and was told even if there was only 1 follicle to see it through.

best of luck with your journey and fingers crossed you have a better outcome 🤞🏽 x
