I am doing 3 egg freezing cycles this year (single, so not IVF just the egg freezing). I am curious: is this a lot? What is the most people do? I don't know whether I am doing a lot/going through a lot or not.

It doesn't sound excessive, that gives you 3 ish months of inbetween. As long as your clinic are happy I'm sure it's fine?

Yep they are, I am more just curious what is normal, do many people do 3, do some do say 5?

Hi @EggFreezing36 how did your cycles go? Did you stick to 3 or go for more?

Brilliant decision to do egg freezing. Many of the articles about freezing eggs either over simplify the effectiveness or are too sceptical. Basically it's the same effectiveness as if you are doing ivf at the age you freeze eggs. So if you are 35-37 and do ivf at a top clinic you probably have a 50 per cent chance of a pregnancy per transfer. Doing 2 or 3 retrieves is a great idea - depending on how many embroys you eventually bank that could be 4-6 transfers in total. A decent bet and certainly means that, should you need to do ivf you have a much better chance with 36 or 37 year old eggs than trying to do retrieves at say 41. Anything that lowers stress is much better for a relationship. Not to be blunt but many men would now take it as a given that any woman they date over 36 has frozen eggs. Fertility can be traumatic for both men as well as women - a lot of male biology is about 'anticipation' which means🤞we can play our part in creating a baby. The hope afforded by egg freezing is a massive plus in being able to do that . Look, ivf doesn't always work, but through egg freezing you are making it more possible. I know 4 women who had a baby in mid forties with eggs from mid thirties.
