Impryl

Hi, has anyone had any good results using Impryl to improve their partners sperm? We have been struggling to conceive for 18 months and his analysis has just come back to say that the sperm are quite weak and possibly deformed due to his regular cycling and mountain biking.

We are waiting for our next fertility appointment but I was wondering if getting started on Impryl in the meantime would help.

Any information gladly received. Thanks in advance :)

Hello
I had IVF for male factor. My fertility consultant highly recommended both myself and partner to take impryl whilst we were having work up to/on the waiting list for IVF.
i think impryl, along with heathy lifestyle factors really did improve the sperm count for IVF (the count improved). It also helps egg quality.
It felt like an expense at the time but very much worth it! It also made me feel like I was taking active positive steps to try to improve things at a very difficult time.
Another positive it made my hair long and thick and good nails!! 💅 😂
wishing you all the best for your journey xx

I've literally just started taking this myself for egg quality. Obvs too early to tell for me, but would also be interested to hear others experiences.

@Lauradorch that’s really helpful and encouraging, thank you! ☺️

I've just started taking Impryl and so has my partner. How has it been for you guys and your partners so far?

bstrong0805 · 22/08/2023 14:56

My partner has been taking it about 2 months now and we have got some good sperm samples for IUI. I havent been told to take it - have others taken it for the female partner too ? Wonder if I should try.

Sorry for commenting on an old thread but I’m looking to see if Impryl helped anyone conceive. We have male factor infertility and my husband has just started taken these with an improved diet and wondering if they helped anyone else.

HopefulllHolly · 23/08/2024 14:39

@Roseberry22 Yes - my partners sperm improved massively from taking it for 3 months. Has to be coupled with a healthy diet, cut caffeine right down and very very limited alcohol/no alcohol. Good luck!

Roseberry22 · 23/08/2024 15:08

@HopefulllHolly thank you! He’s had 2 months of impryl and about 6 weeks of limit caffeine and a good diet so fingers crossed when he retests in a month it will have improved a little x

My husband’s DNA fragmentation improved massively whilst taking Impryl. He also eliminated caffeine & alcohol & ate a Mediterranean diet, so it was a combination of things but his sperm improved so much that we could do regular IVF not ICSI and we got good quality embryos. Impryl was recommended by our andrologist so it’s definitely good. I hope you see a good improvement when you retest.

daisyrae06 · 26/05/2025 20:47

Sorry to jump on an old thread did anyone convince from impryl? Thankyou x

Roseberry22 · 26/05/2025 20:57

@daisyrae06 we haven't yet after a year of my husband taking it! Between my husbands two SA the count did double but as well as impryl we had a big diet change so we can’t say for certain the impryl helped with this. We are just about to start IVF and our consultant has said impryl is good and to carry on taking it but it is expensive and hasn’t been a miracle cure for us unfortunately

daisyrae06 · 26/05/2025 21:02

It sounds like you have had a good improvement with your results and you have a good foundation for IVF. We have just been referred for IVF and partner has been on impryl for about 1 month 2 weeks. I’m hoping it will improve his count 🙏🏻 xx

annabelfr · 26/05/2025 21:16

For us all parameters except morphology were normal. Using Impryl, plus med diet and cutting out all alcohol morphology went from 2% to 6% in 4mo

daisyrae06 · 26/05/2025 21:18

Wow that’s amazing! Have you conceived x

Roseberry22 · 27/05/2025 12:18

@daisyrae06 I would definitely stick with taking it and fingers crossed it improves his count as well! We’ll have a retest in a couple of weeks when we’re going IVF so I’ll try and remember to let you know the outcome if it has increased the other parameters x

Roseberry22 · 04/06/2025 21:00

@daisyrae06 i just wanted to share that we have miraculously conceived and found out just as we we’re about to start IVF!! 12 months on impryl, good balanced diet and also we used this month Tilly blooms home insemination kit which is meant to help with male infertility but some combination of everyone work!! Praying for a sticky baby now

daisyrae06 · 04/06/2025 21:02

@Roseberry22wow congratulations that’s amazing news!!! We found out today my partners sperm has increased from 4 mil to 32mil and that’s before he started impryl that was cutting out smoking so we are hoping for some more improvement with the impryl! I’m so pleased for you!!! Thankyou for sharing it means a lot xxx

Roseberry22 · 04/06/2025 21:07

@daisyrae06 thank you we’re in complete shock as thought ivf was going to be our only option! That’s amazing news, between tests my husbands went up to 40 million so I have everything crossed that with impryl you’ll see the vets results 🤞🏼 we also both cut out alcohol completely I haven’t drank for 8 weeks and my husband 7 but whether that’s even had time to have an impact I’m not sure xxx

daisyrae06 · 28/08/2025 22:34

Sorry for the late response I hope your pregnancy is going well. My partner had a 3 month test after being on impryl for 3 months and it went up by 8 million to 40 million but the morphology stayed at 1%. Our life styles have changed so I’m hopeful still for improvements🥰xxx

That’s such a good improvement though and we’ll still never know what my husbands analysis was when we conceived but 8 months later we conceived after carrying on what we were doing! He had very similar results as well on his 2nd test, count 40 million, morphology 0.5% and motility 12%. Everything crossed for you x

I am not sure whether it was the supplements, or lifestyle changes, or a combination of both…

My husband had a 0% Morphology in July 2024. All other parameters in range. 100% Tapered heads and no normal forms seen.

He started taking a vitamin (not fertility specific just boots generic adult multivitamin)

I had read that tapered heads is often caused by heat. He started being more conscious about how much time he was spending sitting (desk job, film nut, gamer and we have a cat who loves to sit on him)

By November 2024 he got 4% morphology as part of the GP referral.

The wait between steps for GP/ Hospital Clinic and finally to Care Fertility turned me into an obsessive micro manager, the poor man hasnt had a moments peace if there was a hit the temp of his crotch might increase.

No hottub or baths
No cat on his lap ever
He has been reluctantly coming for a walk with me at lunch time when working from home.
He had already cut his alcohol consumption to an occasional single beer. Switched to 0% only around March 2025.

I also found some very loose (he says they’re ugly) boxers which he has been wearing instead of his usual more fitted ones. When working from home he has been wearing PJs or shorts without pants.

That all started in February, in June when we first saw the consultant at Care Fertility he suggested Impryl or Proxceed. We bought Proxceed.

We had another sperm analysis in July 2025 just before my egg collection and his morphology was 7%!

Definitely worth considering some changes to unorthodox areas of life, I am personally blaming the cat. He would work and game with the cat on his lap most days, their body temp is 40•c so this makes the most sense to me. All the supplements seem to contain the key things, NHS recommended Proceieve, then Care said Imryl or Proxceed so go with your budget I think.
