We’re considering IVF abroad has anyone got any experiences to share? We’re thinking Poland, it’s only 1500 pounds ish but worried it might be super stressful doing it away from home. All thoughts and experiences very gratefully received!

Hi,
We did IVF in Greece , two cycles and 2 cycles in the UK.

The only thing different from doing in the UK was the regular scans for egg collection and embryo transfer are included in the clinic costs in the UK.
We had to pay for regular scans ourselves as we were getting them done here in the UK before travel decisions were made.

Also the dates for travel are never confirmed and you always are in the ballpark untill the scans are done and travel date is confirmed. So we always planned with couple of days extra at the start and end.

Also as most communication is in written, you get far more clear information.

The overall cost including travel and hotel costs was still a bit cheaper, not significant reduction. We decided to go abroad because we were getting timely communication and clarity of information from them.

Hope this helps x
