What was your drop off between day 3 and 5?

Curious to know others answers :) I was a poor responder so didn't have many eggs collected. They are taking all the way to day 5 so just wondering what the typical drop off is?

On my first round I went from 8 embryos to 2 blastocysts, and on my second round I went from 4 embryos to 3 blastocysts!

I had 13 eggs collected
9 fertilized,
5 left on day 3
1 very early blast on day 5.....💔

7 eggs
All mature and fertilised
6 blastocyst at day 5
Extra given 1 more day but slowed down so not frozen.

I should have said - 10 eggs collected on first round and 6 on second.

1st collection
14 eggs collected
8 fertilised
4 made day 3
2 made day 5

2nd collection
8 eggs collected
8 fertilised
8 made day 3
5 made day 5

Same medication on both cycles

I had 15 eggs collected but only 4 fertilised. However all those four made it to day 3, day 5, and then into the freezer :)

10 collected, 8 fertilized, by day 3 I had 5 high quality and 2 lower. In the end we froze 1 on day 5 and 1 more on day 6. Some of the high quality 3-day embryos had arrested by day 5. It's such a gamble.

Sorry to take into this but did many people have day 3 transfers? My clinic said that if an embryo is looking good they will pop it back in at day 3.

@ttcsolomumtobe I had a day 3 transfer of a perfect looking embryo and it didn't take, however many women have successful pregnanncies with day 3 embryos. Unfortunately, after so many years of failures I can honestly say that you also need some luck.

1st cycle went from 14 eggs > 12 mature > 9 fertilised > 9 at day 3 > 2 blastocysts day 5

2nd cycle went from 24 eggs > 18 mature > 14 fertilised > 14 at day 3 > 8 blastocysts day 5

exactly same protocol for both cycles!

1st Cycle:
3 eggs, all fertilised
Day 3: 3 embryos
Day 5: 1 blast good enough to transfer (1 given extra day but didn't make it)

2nd Cycle:
10 eggs, all fertilised,
Day 3: 9 embryos
Day 5: 4 blasts (2 more given extra day but didn't make it)

4 fertilised
2 good quality, 2 average on day 3
day 5 - 1 'great' quality blast transferred, 2 good quality frozen!

think i've been amazingly lucky to get 3 good blasts out of 4 eggs :)

My drop offs are huge:

1st collection
34 follicles collected
32 fertilised
15 made day 3
3 made day 5

2nd collection
28 follicles collected
26 fertilised
22 made day 3
4 made day 5

17 eggs collected
11 mature
8 fertilised
5 made it to day 3
4 made it to day 4 and were all frozen

1 is now my 18 month old dd and the other 3 are still in the freezer. Thinking about trying it again
