I know everyone’s journeys personal but would love to hear of peoples successes with TTC naturally/what point they decided to try IVF for a second sibling?

my background - 30F. TTC w/ husband for 2 years, only one MMC at 5 weeks in that time. Unexplained fertility, no issues beyond borderline sperm morphology.
Round 1 Aug 22 was successful, lovely 5AB embryo, born May 22. We had 8 eggs retrieved but sadly only one fertilised normally (so assuming is where our issue is).

We are keen for a sibling for LO and have started to TTC. However if I’m totally honest I’m over it 2 months in already! I’m really torn because of the cost on giving it a bit longer or just accepting it’s what we need and getting on with it. I’d like not a big gap if possible. I’d initially given us til Jan and then we’d do IVF but that feels so far away.

do we at least do initial tests to see if everything is ok? Is it worth doing a consultant review to discuss what happened in round 1? (They wouldn’t do this at the time as we were successful).

TIA!

@LS2020 just to say I'm in the same boat! We do luckily have 1 remaining embryo, but I'm scared to use it as we had to travel to Surrey every 2 weeks for intralipids and immune protocol; the whole thing adding nearly £8k on top of IVF... sadly my post parted TTC was delayed as I had a botched episiotomy so couldn't DTD til Jan this year (DS born March 2022). I have PCOS so sm going to try letrozole with progesterone and blood thinners.

Have you added vitamins for your partner? Impryl has impressive results for morphology. Do you take any vitamins etc yourself?

Should add, the 6hr plus round trip to Surrey is so much more difficult with a toddler to think about 😔

@MotherOfShihTzus so sorry I thought I got email notifications and clearly I do not 😂

yes it’s so tough - we’d have to do a new clinic too as we’ve moved away and I’m nervous on trying a whole new place. I think it’s really expensive to move eggs too :(

I’ve just had a chemical pregnancy/early miscarriage which I think can be low progesterone so I’m considering that.
ooh no I’ve not heard of that - we just take normal multivitamin and partner takes the wellmen conception tablets - I’ll take a look!
