Coping with anxiety after FET

Has anyone else had extreme anxiety/feelings of dread after an FET? How did you deal with it and did anyone actually get a positive at the end?

Mine was only yesterday (first transfer after a freeze all) and today I am just totally convinced that it hasn't worked. I had two MMCs last year so we turned to IVF in the hopes that it would speed up the process of getting pregnant. I just feel exactly the same as I did when I had the MMCs. I just knew something was wrong then.

Sorry to hear you're feeling like that. I think it's quite common. I thought my (fresh) transfer hadn't worked, to the point I did things I wasn't really supposed to like intensive sports and so on.

Someone on a thread I was on who had a transfer at a similar time said she took her transferred embryo to do things she liked in the hope of convincing it to stick around. Like a cake in a favourite cafe or sitting on a bench in a pretty location. I did that a bit to fill the time and distract myself.

My transfer did work and then I lived my pregnancy day to day and week to week. I looked at the "my baby at week xx" updates. I didn't take believe I was pregnant until a few weeks before due date. I've now got a healthy baby.

@CycleGirl20 Thanks for your reply and congratulations! :D

I feel a bit better now. We went for a long walk in the woods yesterday morning and then had dinner with friends in the evening so I think there might something to the idea of just doing things you enjoy :)

@CycleGirl20 - I love your idea. I'm approaching my transfer soon and thinking of coping techniques.

@CoCoaButter85 Good luck! Mine worked but then we had a chemical :(

@TheBirdintheCave - I'm so very sorry. Raised your hopes and then this. Hope you are coping ok. Try to do something nice to yourself. I know easier said than done. You are not alone, many of us out there and feel your pain 🌺

@CoCoaButter85 Thanks, I'm ok :) On a staycation visiting my parents at the moment so I'm glad we've got a nice distraction.
