Dramatic plummet of AMH

Hi, I'm about to start my second cycle of IVF in Aug after the last one ended in my second miscarriage. In Aug 22 my clinic measured my AMH as 15pmol. I took another AMH test with Medichecks and it has just come back as 7.5 pmol! I've been in tears since finding this out, surely a drop this dramatic cannot be normal? Does anyone know what this could mean or if I will need to inform my clinic? I'm really upset and panicking.

Unfortunately I think it very much can be normal. Mine was measured at 7.1 last August and this June it was 3.6.

My doctor did say that contrary to popular belief it can actually fluctuate, and you can get different values from different labs.

Don't despair. 7.5 is by no means terrible. I just got 3 blastocysts from 6 eggs with my lowly 3.6!

And PS - all it means is that you have fewer eggs, not that they're all rubbish. Keep the faith.

I had a similar dip so indeed not that unusual I'm afraid. It was 14.9 in May 22 and 7.9 in March 23, I was quite shocked, but were told that AFC is more important and can be at odds with AMH. Good luck with this next cycle!

Mine fell even more sharply in a similar timeframe 2-3 years ago. My consultant said it was unusual but not unheard of. He said it could be a dodgy result but in my case it was in keeping with my response to stims so he thought it was unlikely. I haven’t had it tested since I’m still ovulating normally and still have a reasonable AFC so there is still hope.

low doesn't mean 0 just means you need to act faster for egg retrieval and ask clinic about certain supplements

Thanks for the replies. My fsh and prolactin are also elevated so it's not looking good. Will just have to hope I get lucky with next cycle as I'm doing everything I can to improve egg quality and beyond that it's out of my hands.

@Justanotherdobby don't lost hope xx

Mine went from 4.2 to 2.4 in a year. I have had a longish ivf journey but I'm currently 14+3
