Hi, I am starting a mock cycle in preparation for egg donation at Instituto Bernabeau Madrid in September. I am struggling to find a clinic in london to carry out my scans (to measure the lining).
can anyone recommend a clinic in central or west London?

Lister would do this for you. You could also just go to a private gynaecologist. They don’t have to be attached to a fertility clinic necessarily as you don’t need access to labs.

What about ultrasound direct? I'm not based in London but I used them for lining scans where I live. I'm sure there would be a branch/branches in London

Thank you for your suggestions. I went to ultrasound direct, it was really easy to get an appointment on the date I required and they emailed me all the information following the scan super quick.

@P2020 Im having my second mock cycle with IB Alicante and am having a terrible time trying to find a clinic to do my 3D scan. My consultant at IB is adamant that my scan has to be 3D which is causing me such stress. Most clinics only do 2D scans x

Hi @Eiremogra, did you find a place that does 3D scans? I'm also with Alicante and I'm planning to start my mock cycle shortly (it's the first one).. I'm based In London.

Hi @Cooclette , I finally found a clinic but it was a struggle. There were a lot more clinics available in London tbh but the times/dates plus flights to London just weren’t adding up. You will be fine if you are based in London. If you do require a 3D scan let me know and I can share the London clinics with you - it will save you alot of hassle searching! Tbh my first mock cycle only required standard 2D scans and this was so much easier to source.Best of luck with your cycle!! It’s an exciting step forward xx

Thank you @Eiremogra - we are doing IVF with donor eggs after having three unsuccessful cycles of IVF with my own eggs in the UK (we didn't have a great experience with our UK clinic). We have been over to Alicante a few times for tests for the guarantee programme but haven't started any cycles yet - I'm planning to do the mock cycle soon but trying to figure out if it's a good idea or not as the real cycle could be quite close to Christmas. Either way, I'm excited but also slightly nervous about getting back on the emotional rollercoaster!

I'll let you know if I need a 3D scan - thanks for offering to share what you found!

Best of luck with everything xx

@Eiremogra Sorry to hear about the trouble you have with the 3D scan.
I am about to commence treatment for transfer. We did our mock cycle in July. It’s taken this long to find a donor which has been frustrating as they suggested we could have a match by August September.

I’ve not heard that a 3D is required but I am hoping not!

I’ve been instructed to administer a depot injection at the end of the month (to stop ovulation). I was able to get Stork Fertility to fill the prescription and I have the medication. I am now having issues finding a nurse or doctor to administer the injection. It have to be done by a trained person. Has anyone else had this issue? Any help would be great.
Thanks

Hi @P2020 I got my OH to administer the injection. He was nervous but managed fine. x

P2020 · 21/10/2023 17:35

Thanks @Eiremogra . Can I ask, was this subcutaneous or intramuscular? I think perhaps this is why my clinic insist on not self administering; because it has to be intramuscular. I've done some reading and i think the medication acts quicker/slower depending how its injected.

Yeh it has to be IM (intramuscular) - so straight into the butt! He managed well tbh, under my ‘strict’ guidance 😂
