Clinic recommendations - embryo banking (Care, Lister, CRGH, other)

Hello,

Apologies to anyone who also uses “healthunlocked” as i have shared this post there too!

I’m currently undergoing fertility treatment because I have a luteal phase defect and low AMH (6.2 at age 33) and I’m about to move from on medicated cycles to IVF.

Given my low AMH, I plan to do a few embryo banking cycles + PGT-A testing before transfers.

I’m currently based on Surrey and my closest clinic is Care Woking. I have had a consultation here but I am also considering Lister and CRGH in London, as I think the commute will be worth it if they can genuinely offer better care and outcomes - but TBC if this is the case!

Does anybody have experience of these clinics (Care Woking, Lister, CRGH) that they are happy to share?

Did they have any particular approaches for low AMH which yielded good results?

Could they share a rough view on costs? All the headline costs (e.g. for collection) seem similar on the websites, but i’ve heard CGRH is very expensive so i’m sure there will be other costs adding to this…

Thank you very much and sending lots of luck to others on this journey x

Hiya, I was with CRGH for a year last year, low AMH, low AFC, high FSH, premature ovulation.

We did banking and paid per cycle, it cost us about £7k a cycle with meds (mild stim) and then £5 for the transfer phase.

It wasn't cheap, but I was satisfied with the service I recieved. There have been some recent posts on here that say service levels have dropped due to them taking on high volumes of NHS patients along with private patients. So worth a bit of a Google search to find the most recent posts on Mumsnet and get their views.

Regarding results, I had 3 cycles get to egg collection and got 4 blasts from these. I was very pleased with this as I had been told it was impossible by the NHS and had consults at 3 other clinics who weren't the most enthusiastic about taking me on as a patient or chances of success.

Another to consider for low AMH that I have see discussed on the forum is duostim, which is 2 collections from 1 cycle. Someone had a really good experience with this via Care Northampton (have Care discussed this with you?) This person collected more eggs/got more blasts from 2nd phase collection than the first.

If Care don't offer this anymore, (it was last year) then there are other clinics in London that do if you want to find more info on it. I didn't know about it, but if I needed to stim again I would look into a duostim.

I hope this is helpful and others are able to add to this for you X

@SPR40 Hi, thank you very much for the detailed response and notes on CRGH.

Although £7k is not cheap, it's actually similar to what i think i'd pay for IVF + freezing + meds at other clinics, so good to know it's not wildely different.

I also saw the great DuoStim success story and will have to ask my Dr! I expect since it's my first round they may want to see how i respond on a normal protocol, but it's certainly something i'd be keen to explore, especially given it can speed things up.

Best wishing for the next steps for you. 4 blasts sounds really encouraging. x
