Hello, just wondering if anyone has any tips or advice. We had a successful first go at IVF and have our lovely DD who's coming up to a year old. I'm still breastfeeding her, although she's rapidly dropping feeds now. We have some frosties and really, I'm keen just to get on with it and try for another. I think we'll use what we have and then just try naturally from there (although you never know really).
We had quite a lot of success with IVF. We got 17 eggs, 15 fertilised. We had IVF outside of the UK and they only developed 5 of the fertilised eggs and froze 10 on day 1 (due to the law). From the 5 we got 2 blastocysts. One is DD and one in the freezer.
The IVF success is relevant because, now I'm wondering if there's something minor missing from us trying naturally. Maybe progesterone, or maybe DH's wonky sperm just can't swim to the egg but once they get there, they're all good. He has 1-2% morphology but the count and motility was good. Something that we could take as a supplement or something iui might solve if IVF fails. Is this a thing?!?
I'm also wondering about doing our next IVF round while breastfeeding. Does it decrease the odds? I don't want to totally wean what might be the only baby I ever have, but I'm 37 and not getting any younger. I don't want to throw away the frosties on a less than good chance. I've only had one af since she was born also, so waiting this month to see if I'm even regular.
