Would I would qualify for fertility help?

I've not yet bothered my GP because I feel I wouldn't qualify for help.

I'm nearing 42, had two easy and successful pregnancies in my late 30s. I always really wanted 3 children. We've been trying for about 18 months. I miscarried last year, and it may be that I'm perimenopausal. I was going to speak to my GP. I don't want IVF but I wondered if I would be allowed some fertility help in terms of medication. Would anyone know if I would be allowed help? I live in Scotland.

Thank you.

It's worth asking, they might be happy to do some baseline tests. They could at least advise re criteria for referral to fertility clinic as well. I guess the issue is unfortunately at 42 there might not be an 'issue' as such, just natural fertility decline affecting your ability to conceive?

You might be able to get a referral for tests and clomid. I'd ask your GP.
