DHEA for PCOS – any advice/experiences?

I was going to order some myself online but have not been tested for DHEA levels.

I had first bloods done this week for investigation and don’t know if this will be tested for.

Could be up to 12 weeks to hear back so would prefer to get ahead on it but don’t want to do the wrong thing!

I wouldn't take this without baseline testing and monitoring, and under the guidance of a medical professional. From what a read it can cause other problems if taken incorrectly.

Thanks! Do you know what sort of problems? And do you know if this is something you can get tested for??? (Or if it’s routine for fertility bloods)

@RingLightLight im interested in this as my friend took it for her ivf and she thought it made a difference to her egg quality/number of embryos and she's pregnant from her 1st FET. I have started taking them on lead up to my 2nd ivf round but I am not sure if it will make much difference but I'd rather try it. It works a lot with oestrogen receptors and meant to be good for perimeno or pcos as far as I'm aware 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks for the reply! Yes I read about it on the website for a private clinic in NY, who said it significantly increases success rates in certain patients (such as some patients with PCOS).

I’m very new to this – what’s an FET?

Were you able to get any advice or testing for baseline DHEA levels?

@RingLightLight sorry no real advice and no testing, my gp and clinic are pretty basic sadly.

FET is frozen embryo transfer. Part of ivf.
