IVF clinics in Spain

Husband and I are embarking on our IVF journey for secondary infertility; I had no issues conceiving and carrying our daughter (now 2.5) but have had various issues since including a molar pregnancy and a second miscarriage. Tests have shown my AMH is now pretty low (6.8pmol/L or 0.9ng/mL). We're planning to try 1-2 rounds here in the UK with ARGC but I've now had a couple of people recommend Spain for IVF, particularly with donor eggs.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend any Spanish clinics that they were pleased with? I note that they are much cheaper and many seem to have a guarantee attached?

In addition, how does it work logistically in terms of how long you need to be over there for, and how much notice do you get ? I'm just wondering if it's going to be too difficult balancing annual leave (Im a teacher so can't choose my holidays) and childcare for my 2 yo.

Any thoughts and advice greatly appreciated! ❤❤

I'm sure people will give you names of the big clinics in Spain that have good success rates. I used a smaller less well known clinic on the recommendation of a local, and was really happy with the care they offered.

Think about where you'll be able to easiest fly to and look around that area. Clinics are well regulated in Spain so your quality of care is likely to be pretty standard across clinics, in my opinion.

It depends what treatment you have as to how long you're there and how many visits, and you won't know until you've decided on a treatment plan, so that's hard to answer.

I wasn't happy with the care in the UK - it was very generic and I felt no-one stopped to consider the specifics of my situation - all very off the shelf. Spanish clinic was way more personalised.

Remember it's anonymous donation in Spain so any child you have will not be able to know their donor at 18yo like in the UK.

Wishing you success x

Hi, I used clinica tambre in Madrid. It was during covid so experience is probably very different to now. I used donor eggs...I was 41 so didn't even check my own ovaries. I was successful at first attempt.
I found the doctors and staff so helpful, kind. I had to travel on my own due to restrictions at time but care at clinic was top notch. As regards to timings they worked around me. Similar to you around annual leave. Eggs were frozen so we booked a date around best flights etc.
I wish you all the luck in the world

Hi, here is a list of the best IVF clinics in Spain: . I have been familiar with the fertilityclinicsabroad site for a couple of years, and they consistently verify every detail before listing a clinic. Personally, I trust the information on their site. I hope this helps.
