Can anyone recommend a private early pregnancy expert doctor who doesn't need a GP referral

Have got pregnant with a clinic in a European country. Donor embryo. Now 7+ weeks.
I live in England.
I need to find an expert in the UK to advise on medications etc in 1st trimester.
When I told my GP what the situation was and asked for help, this GP was extremely unhelpful and won't engage. They try to get me off the phone as quickly as possible and pass the buck to the midwives rather than try to get an answer to my questions. The GP seems very uncomfortable with the whole thing. It is very upsetting.
I now really want to see an private expert who can advise me about what I need to do during this first 13 weeks of the pregnancy. I will pay whatever it takes.
Does anyone know of a hospital or clinic with expertise in this area of medicine where they will see me without a GP referral, and be prepared to give me some details? I would be prepared to travel anywhere in the UK for this.
Thanks for your help.

Would you contact private fertility clinics and see if they would take you on? They'd have the knowledge what you need depending on what your risk factors are.

Your GP likely has no knowledge of what to do in this situation. They aren't a fertility expert and if they were to refer to one on the NHS, you'd be waiting months. Unfortunately there is no guidebook for patients who go abroad from procedures and come back needing immediate help, completely out of an (already broken) system.

Thank you riderofrohan - love the Tolkien handle! I do need to get this sorted with a private gynaecologist.
The UK government and the NHS approach to fertility treatment really seem to have no sense of urgency about this really important area of medicine, which doesn't feel very fair or reasonable.

Agreed, you need to go to a private fertility clinic - your GP won't have a clue about this stuff so I think it's fair enough they passed the buck. I would have thought any private clinic would be able to help, just see who has earliest availability/is nearest to you?

Did your European clinic give you a medication protocol to follow? What kind of advice are you looking for from a UK gynaecologist, is it about medications you’re already on that might affect the pregnancy or adding medications to help sustain it?

I worked with a recurrent miscarriage gynae specialist when I was doing IVF but the medication protocol was based on my specific test results and designed to start from pre-transfer.

Hi, just wondering if you found a good obstetrician.
I'm in the. exact same situation.
Thanks
