Testing after 5 day transfer

Hello all.

What do you do to cope with a negative test? Today is day 6 after 5dt (early blastocyst) and there isn't a faintest line in sight. I am beginning to feel like this won't happen and starting to prepare myself for a negative outcome and just unsure how to be able to carry on with work, life stuff, etc.

This is our first fresh transfer and I know people on here have been through much worse, but any advice on how to carry on is appreciated.

Thanks! :)

@contentsmayb i am now 6dp5dt but I tested on an easy at home test strip yesterday and it was stark white. I will test on an frer tonight as this is when I got my first faint positive last cycle. I don't think there is a way to deal with it other than just accept it and move on. Are you nhs?

This is my second from my first ivf round and the thought that I'll have to wait months to do another round and then transfer, more meds etc, it's such a thought. I want to just sit at home and not do anything or see anyone and I did that for 2 months after my miscarriage last cycle (although I still went to work). You just have to pick yourself up and keep going because at the end of the day you're the only one that can do that. It doesn't help time pass just sitting alone doing nothing (although sometimes needed).

I have started to feel it will never work but there are no other nhs options available and I do not want to he forced I to considering other options either. Have you been trying or waiting long? Do you have many other embryos?

@Fox01 Thank you for your response. It's hard isn't it?

This is our first cycle. We had been trying for a year. I met my partner later in life. and I have just turned 40 this month, so NHS wasn't really an option. We just went straight into private, as the doctor said we'd be waiting for up to 2 years for NHS. Now just feeling numb thinking that all the money paid is just down the drain.

Sorry about your miscarriage, it must be soul-shattering :(

We had 13 eggs but only 1 survived! So definitely would need to start from scratch....

I think it's a great advice...nobody else can do it but me...

Good luck to you!! Hope everything works properly and sticks!!! Sending you good thoughts <3

@contentsmayb totally get you. We have unexplained infertility and had to wait until the 2 year mark to be accepted for ivf. We had to then wait 7 months before actually getting to start ivf. I didn't respond to stims so I only got 5 mature eggs of which we got 2 blasts. Both top quality. 1 miscarriage and now 1 stark white neg on an frer now. We will both be 34 this year and have been trying since we were 30. Sad really. Some people get their bfp easily others have to keep fighting I guess.

@Fox01 Good luck to our lonely eggies!
