Positive stories with thin lining

Hi all,
I am trying to do a FET but it keeps getting cancelled due to a thin lining.
I have now been advised to have a hysteroscopy to check for scarring after d&c in January. We are reluctant to do this as been told we have to wait 4 months to try again if they do find scarring.
we have 7 embryos so I am considering asking them to do a transfer this month anyways to see what happens but lining is only 5.8mm.
does anyone have any success stories they can share with a thin lining or any other advise for us?
thanks!!

Hi @Foreverhoping33 what have you tried so far/what type of cycle/additional meds etc?
after lots of cycle cancellations using medicated cycles where lining was very poor 3-5mm (and that was on highest dose of patches and tablets),
mine only got above 6.5mm with using a natural cycle. Seems my lining responds better to my own hormones. Viagra works for some (I’m trying it in next cycle). And some have success with low dose stims just to get your body to make its own higher level of oestrogen.
I did have hysteroscopy and biopsy for chronic endometritis though. I think it depends how difficult it is for you to make embryos. I have low AMH and diminished ovarian reserve so it’s not easy to get eggs so the embryos we’ve made are extra precious.

I also have a thin lining but was given extra oestrogen patches and tablets and my third round resulted in a bfp x

I have a thin lining, mine was only 4.5mm 7 days post ovulation on last natural cycle!
Last time I did ivf mine was 9mm but this time mine is the lowest level (7mm) thats 'acceptable' even after all the stims. I've refused to transfer under 8mm so I've been given pregynova to try and get it a bit thicker and I will see where I am on transfer day. If I'm not happy I will freeze. I believe there is no actual official cut off but what I read said chances significantly decrease under 8mm. As the other person said it depends how easy you can make embryos.
I am older so I don't want to waste any but I have also already had 3 miscarriages and 1 failed ivf so I don't want to go through anymore losses and want to try and get it optimum I can to try and get us that little one. Good luck OP with whatever you choose 😊 x

I was given progy also. I'm still on it now at 9+3. Made a big difference for me. Also three 100 oestrogen patches every other day xx

Oh that's good @CR7 and congrats!
I don't suppose you know how long it took you to thicken it up? I basically just need 1 more mm! I've gone for 4mg a day for 5 days rather than 6mg as I was concerned it could be too high a dose when it was already 7mm.

I took extra tablets for the whole cycle xx not just half way through xx

CR7 · 11/06/2023 17:37

@LittleDoveLove and the patches also. From before transfer. My transfer were all frozen xx

LittleDoveLove · 11/06/2023 19:18

@CR7 thank you, yes they don't usually give it when it's at 7mm but I've just read 8mm increases odds so much and I don't want another loss. Hoping this little boost will do something or it will also be a FET for me! X

Make sure you also get a progesterone blood test on transfer day. I had one on my third transfer (the only one that's been successful) and my levels were low so I was given extra drugs x

LittleDoveLove · 11/06/2023 20:14

@CR7 thank you yes i will do that thank you, I don't know what a normal level is I shall have to research. I am going to ring tomorrow and ask for that as they just don't do any of this at my clinic!! I will also ask for eostrogen too x

They want you at a minimum of 30 (no idea of the unit). I was at 20 x

LittleDoveLove · 11/06/2023 20:28

@CR7 fab thank you so much. Do you know what the oestrogen should be?x

It varies depending on your situation. I had my patches upped to three every other day this transfer and intake two tablets as well. It really depends on how thin your lining is xx

CR7 · 11/06/2023 20:47

@LittleDoveLove I don't think there's a set formula. Most people don't need as much as me. I was amazed they kept me on all the drugs until I get to twelve weeks. I'm on all sorts this round including steroids and blood thinners, progesterone injections... the list goes on

LittleDoveLove · 11/06/2023 21:30

@CR7 thanks so much. I'm 40 and I'm just not happy with how little the clinic do. I hope this works this cycle or else I will go elsewhere. Or may even transfer embryos to another one as lost faith in mine.
Most good ones in London though which is a pain.
Great news on your pregnancy! X

I'm with care in Manchester. They have been brilliant x
