Pregnant naturally following letrozole

So a bit of a back story sorry it’s long but it sets the scene. In the years we have been TTC I have never gotten pregnant. In all the cycles we have been LH testing the line never got darker so I never had a positive. It was confirmed that I had PCOS so that LH testing wouldn’t be accurate anyway and I had long cycles. We seeked help from the GP, tests confirmed no ovulation but it was hard to go for bloods at the right times when my cycles were so long. We went to a private fertility clinic husband had semen analysis - all normal, the issue being PCOS/ not ovulating. We continued with the private fertility clinic and started ovulation induction with letrozole and trigger shot in October 2022. We did 3 back to back cycles of this and even though I responded well and seemed to ovulate, all were unsuccessful. Our last letrozole cycle was in Feb. In March we went back to see our consultant and made a plan to move onto IVF end of May/ beginning of June. So we was going to be sitting a cycle out, and could relax a bit knowing we had a plan. During this natural cycle I had some ovulation symptoms so I started LH testing and was getting positives by 2 May, all on my own no ovulation meds. 16 May I did a pregnancy test & couldn’t believe my eyes when it was positive. I have tested multiple times a day with various tests all positive. A few days ago a digital week test went from 1-2wks to 2-3wks so that was reassuring. I will test again at the weekend with hopes to see it go to 3+wks. I believe I am currently 4wks5days. I have a HCG blood test tomorrow & will book a 6 week scan. I know I need to chill and I enjoy this moment but so scared at the same time.

This all feels too good to be true. Angry at the fertility clinic as although they have sent over a prescription for me to have cyclogest pessaries, they won’t support me in any other ways (blood test & scan I am having to do else where) as the pregnancy wasn’t achieved with their help. Now that I am not due to be spending £20k with them on IVF it’s like they don’t want to know as I am not worth as much money to them anymore.

Has anyone ever been in this position before? Would the letrozole cycles have triggered my body into working properly on its own?! I have lost 7lbs in preperation for IVF which I am sure has also helped. I am also taking metformin, folic acid, vitamin D, and have been for a few months now.

Baby dust to all x x

@Hedgehugs Massive congratulations! It hasn’t happened to me, but a fertility nurse told me that it’s quite possible to ovulate on your own for a cycle or two after clomid/letrozole. How are you getting on? This is exciting news!

@WafflesNCream thank you!! I haven’t had my digital weeks test go up to 3+ yet which is making me nervous. I am taking cyclogest (progesterone) pessaries to support the pregnancy and wonder if I was to have a misscarriage would the cyclogest mask any symptoms/ bleeding? Just an anxious mess really! 1 week until our 6weeks scan

@Hedgehugs I totally understand! I’ve got a BFP and can’t believe it either! When is your scan? I have mine booked for Sunday.
