Any success in getting prescribed progesterone?

Has anyone ever been successfully prescribed progesterone?
I have a short luteal phase and think I'd benefit from it. NHS gynaecologist wouldn't prescribe and said it's not standard practice in the NHS, referred me to fertility clinic for more in depth tests and to rule other things out first.
I'm considering seeking private advice.

I bought it in the pharmacy in Spain when having IVF there.
You could possibly get a private prescription via a GP, you'd need to pay for the consultation, plus dispensing charge, plus the cost of the medication.

Have you actually had progesterone blood tests?
