Donor Egg Abroad

Just had our third failed cycle, this was even worse than first two, think clinic left too long on stims and didn't get 1 fertilised eggs. Think we need to go down route of donor eggs now. How does it work? Does my husband fly out and give sample and then I go out after for transfer? Are there many trips needed? Thanks for any info. And any recommendations on clinics?

Hope you don’t mind me asking but I wondered how you have got on? My mind goes back and forth over the whole process and how will I feel. Using hubbies sperm.

Hi @Sarslou I'm happy to answer any queries. I used IB Alicante for DE treatment and overall I'm happy (and way better than my UK experience)

Clinic and equipment is really advanced and although initially I had so many concerns about the DE process they have been very accommodating

They matched me to a 19 yr old donor (I initially freaked but at the end of the day it is a good thing in terms of embryo quality)

Got 10 eggs all fertilised 6 day 5 embryos

First fresh transfer failed (I felt it take but I was really ill with sore throat etc for days and wonder if that caused it )

I'm booked for 7 wk scan on Monday (I should have gone sooner but also nervous about it ) still have symptoms so hope all good

Getting my head around DE was the hardest - but honestly it's a great option for us - don't think of it like a consolation - it's still our baby and part of us ❤️

good to know about IB Alicante- seems a lot of success stories on here with them in particular. Had a chat with Clinic Tambre who seem very good and thorough but will also organise one with IB!
exciting times ahead and yes you are right they are part of us and epigenetics is something very important here too 😀.

@Sarslou I’ve heard good things about Tambre. I used IB in Madrid, not Alicante, just mentioning it as another option although their Alicante branch is more known. Have also heard good things about Instituto Marques in Barcelona.
