Hi everyone. This is my first time posting and so sorry if I haven’t covered everything! Im sorry this is a long one! I’m 32 and me and my partner have been ttc for the last 18months. In that time I’ve had 2 miscarriages, one super early and the other was mmc found with no heartbeat at 12 weeks scan. We got impatient trying again after our last loss and went to see a Recurrant miscarriage specialist.
I’ve had tests on the nhs all normal, I did an AMH and sticky blood panel privately. AMH was low at only 4.7 and only 5 follicles on my scan, otherwise everything healthy and normal. Dr doesn’t seem concerned with my partner as he has a 10yo from previous relationship. We now have a plan in place to try naturally for the next 3 months, if nothing happens it’s on to ivf!
I guess in a long winded way I’m asking for people’s experience in similar situations, what you did and how it went for you. I would really like the good, the bad and the ugly please so I’m prepared. There seems to be an overwhelming amount of positive stories out there which makes me hopeful but I don’t want to be more devastated if it doesn’t happen for me. Just desperate right now!

Hey, I'm in more or less the same position as you but slightly older - AMH 4.6, I had 1 MMC from a natural pregnancy before starting IVF.

With low AMH the challenge with IVF is that you'll likely not respond that well to stimulation drugs and need to be prepared for possibly cancelled cycles, or retrieving a low number of eggs. I had 3 cycles which went: 1. cancelled due to lack of response 2. 6 eggs -> 1 embryo -> chemical pregnancy 3. 1 egg -> 1 embryo -> MMC.

I then had another natural pregnancy which unfortunately ended at 16 weeks due to chromosome abnormalities.

I'm not going to do anymore IVF as it feels like too much of a struggle with low AMH.

Having said that, I follow lots of Instagram accounts of women in similar positions and I have seen plenty of examples of success. After all, you only need 1 good egg and age is on your side so you might have a low number of eggs but better quality.

The gynaecologist recommended taking ubiquinol to help with egg quality. I also take vitamin D and folate.

Good luck
