mild vs standard ivf

hi everyone, looking for some advice. We started mild IVF this cycle. On day 6 of taking 150 iu Gonal f, the scan showed one follicle was far ahead of all the rest (8 in total). The cycle was cancelled. We're obviously sad. We spoke with the clinic and they said they could up the dose to 200-225 iu. Now I'm just concerned whether I should continue with mild IVF or whether standard IVF would be more suitable for me. I'm worried that with mild IVF, I won't be stimulated enough for all 8 follicles to develop. The clinic said they don't give more than 225 iu and 150 iu seemed appropriate for my bmi of 22. We're unexplained, so don't know where the issue is. Thanks in advance!

@Ikigai22 did you have many follicles at your baseline? What is your amh? I've never heard of mild or standard ivf but I started on 150 menopur for the basic dose and only got eggs from 6 follicles but I had 46 follicles baseline so the dose was not enough to stimulate the follicles. I can understand why they cancelled. Are you nhs?

@Fox01 I had around 9 follicles in previous cycle, in this one 8. AMH is 10.6. The doctor said on Day 5, one follicle is way ahead of others due to early recruitment in the cycle. I'm wondering if the only way to go around this is to increase the medication, which I'm not against. The clinic has told me for the next cycle they'll start with 220 iu gonal f and may increase up to 225 iu but they will not increase beyond this. I'm not NHS, it's a private clinic. I've no idea what happened with me is normal or not, although the doctor said they have 3-4 such cases every week. Mild IVF is lower dosage medication, which is supposed to be better for egg quality and better for women with low AMH or high number of follicles. I'd happily do standard IVF and I've written to another clinic but I'm just trying to understand how to prevent this.

You seem to have a lot of follicles. May be they didn't give more medication due to fear of OHSS.

sorry I meant clinic would start with 200 iu gonal f, not 220
