Hello, I'm starting a June thread for IVFers - I couldn't see one on the board. Please join!

I'm 39 and this will be our second round. The first round in November resulted in 2 blastocysts from 10 eggs. First transfer failed, got pregnant from the second transfer but miscarried at 9.5 weeks at the beginning of April.

Now raring to go again!

@Keepingeverythingxxx what a journey! So glad you got your beautiful girl out of this. I have everything crossed for you. Those embryos sound top quality. Can I ask your age? I'm turning 40 next month. So worried about time not being on our side x

Quick update from me. Egg collection went well today - managed to collect 3 eggs.

With an AMH of 1.2 I'm happy with that! Should get my first update tomorrow morning to know how many mature and fertilised. Now it's just a matter of seeing how things progress day by day

Ah thank you! I have amazing news - all 6 made it to day 3 🥳 I honestly can’t believe it and fully expected bad news today. I’m booked in for the transfer Wednesday morning all being well🤞 Time is going to drag until then!

Oh and I’m feeling SO much better today after a rough post EC day yesterday. I’m starting to feel myself again.

I’m so much better today, thank you. I had a full nights sleep 🙏 How are you feeling? We found out we have 6 day3 embryos 🥳 and I don’t think we’ll get another update until Weds when the transfer is booked.

No harm in giving your clinic a call & seeing how things are progressing. The wait is agonising isn’t it!?

So glad to hear you're feeling loads better today @FiddleLeaf and amazing that all 6 are still going strong!! I'm all good - I think I've been quite lucky with recovery. Still getting a slight niggling feeling every so often, but no pain. The wait is definitely agonising - my clinic has specifically said I'll get a call on day 1 and then day 5 and nothing in between 😔

Has your clinic said whether they'll provide photos from the time-lapse? Not sure if they're given as standard but I really want one - is that weird?!? 😂

@FiddleLeaf that's amazing news! So pleased for you. In my experience from reading up fewer numbers often are reflective of quality eggs x

@Lebe14 try not to worry, I found that you can't always predict the outcome for day 5 from day 3 at all. Some have a huge drop off during that time. Sometimes a day 3 update can cause stress as you are left with small numbers and then they all make it to day 5. What I'm trying to say is potentially you're better off not hearing till day 5 as then at least you know the final verdict instead of predicting with day 3 x

That’s reassuring, thanks @MAbbott34 . I spent yesterday researching how many eggs, embryos etc and every story I read seemed to be 20+ so I was feeling so disheartened but I really does take just one.

@Lebe14 I’m a pain in the butt so would call anyway 🤣 My clinic haven’t said anything about a time lapse. I’m trying to stay a bit detached from them. I’m considering what we’ll do with the embryo photo. Maybe just tuck it away so I’ll have to choose to see it?

I just got a call from our clinic about the grading of our "good quality" embryos. Got a 5ab, 4bb and 4cc. Upset about the 4cc as I would not have classed this as good quality. Feel a bit like they lied to me about having 3 decent chances. However definitely grateful for our other two x

Thank you @MAbbott34 - you're totally right. Just need to trust in the process and what will be, will be. It's just so hard haha. That's amazing on your embryo grading. I wouldn't worry about the CC - apparently the grading is so subjective between embryologists and clinics. If they're happy to freeze it then surely the quality is okay as I don't think they'll freeze low quality embryos?? At least you've got 2 top quality - that's great news for you xx

@FiddleLeaf is that the photo you'll get on Wednesday with the transfer? Maybe you could put it in an envelope somewhere and depending on how it all goes, you've then got it to look at if you want in the future xx

@Lebe14 thanks for reminding me of that. I've heard of low grade embryos being the sticky ones!

@Lebe14 @FMRBEC @FiddleLeaf thankyou, I recovered fine. I'm having IVF in Greece so just enjoying the beautiful weather and went on a boat trip for the afternoon.

Had my update today: 2/3 were mature and both fertilised normally.

How was your update @FMRBEC ?

@Gryffindoratheart That's good news. Enjoy your time in Greece! My update was good too thank you. A few fertilised and now need to wait for day 3 Thursdays update to see how they're getting along. My husbands sperm isn't of great quality they had said so quite worried about that.

@Gryffindoratheart congrats! Greece sounds amazing, how long are you there for? How much cheaper have you found it?

@Gryffindoratheart that's great news. And what an amazing way of recovering from your EC - sounds ideal!! London is very rainy today 😂 so I'm jealous.

@FMRBEC glad you're okay. I'm sure recovery after sedation depends from person to person. Your body is also probably quite tired from the medication (or even lack of medication now). It's had a lot going on! Take care of yourself x

I can't say I'm missing the rain, am missing home comforts though! And missing my dogs, and the UK food 😂

Greek food is very meat heavy and I only eat it once a week at home so that's a bit hard. But the weather and the boat rides certainly make up for it!!!
