Hello, I'm starting a June thread for IVFers - I couldn't see one on the board. Please join!

I'm 39 and this will be our second round. The first round in November resulted in 2 blastocysts from 10 eggs. First transfer failed, got pregnant from the second transfer but miscarried at 9.5 weeks at the beginning of April.

Now raring to go again!

@Qwertyas it's a tough one - if the scan goes well it's amazing but if it is inconclusive then you've got a horrible long wait for a week while you wait to see if there's any changes.

OTD is this Sunday. We've got a holiday planned end July then I think I'd like to go straight into frozen transfer. We have 4 embryos frozen and im tempted to ask for 2 to be transferred as well! X

@Chickencrazy3356 great news your 2 embryos are normal. You have a great chance of success! So sorry to hear about your brother, it's strange how things all seem to happen at once x

@Honeybunie its a month of downregulation (once I finally start bleeding it's been 8 days now since EC!) then a mock cycle with era, then Fet. I have implantation issues so trying to get it all right xx

@Honeybunie totally agree about day 3 embryos. Some of their protocols are absolute rubbish. Makes you wonder what other bad decisions they make in the lab? Hope you enjoy your well earned break before getting back to the grindstone again! Let's hope each stage gets us closer to our miracle babies xx

@IVFGotThis05 the eggs grow up to 2mm a day in the later stages of stims. As long as you don't have a lead follicle they can keep them growing for a while yet! I got 8 eggs from ec and was very upset thinking it wasn't enough. Was lucky to get 3 good quality blasts from those. There's lots of hope and quality is way more important than quantity with eggs x

I just went for my day 6 scan and also feeling a little low! 10 follicles counted. I wanted more.. Oh well, just the beginning of this cycle really and I know I know, it's quantity not quality. My funny low thinking is 'and I bet they're low quality too' 😂 We're funny aren't we.

@NicHopingForARainbow Ah, that’s so great there’s some frozen if needed. Four sounds a comfortable amount too;🤞🤞 that means no more ECs!
If you do end up having another transfer, it’s going to be sooo nice after having a post holiday reset too 😊
I can definitely see the temptation of a double transfer too!

Afternoon 👋🏻 Just got home from our EC and we got 12 eggs. Less that we expected but it sounds like a good number 🤷🏻‍♀️

Feeling quite anxious to find out how many are mature and fertilised tomorrow. I wish I could speed up time 😞

Thank you! It's definitely not my clinic I've arranged my mock cycle myself in a different clinic! Bit of a diy ivf 🤣

@FiddleLeaf 12 is a fantastic number! The waiting game is horrific. Try not to get focussed too much on the drop-off as it can really vary each day. Don't envy you going through it I was a nervous wreck x

@Qwertyas i do have some bits to share that may help some women. Some may already know about this, but Immunology plays a massive part in implantation and many older women (or younger with autoimmune issues in the family) will need some immune support to get pregnant. I'm having a natural killer cell biopsy, era/emma /Alice alongside a mock cycle to ensure my uterine environment is hopefully just right. I'm also going to be taking steroids and Intralipid infusions with my transfer. It's expensive, a pain in the arse as it takes another month before Fet but I know I have implantation issues so I feel I need it. Any women with repeated failed ivf with good quality embryos should 100% look into it xxx

Hi @MAbbott34 good luck with your biopsy, where are you having it done if you don't mind me asking? My clinic put me on prednisolone after egg collection in case I have natural killer cells which could have contributed to miscarriages but I've not had a biopsy to check.

Of our 12 collected eggs only 6 have fertilised and a 7th trailing but might make it too. The embryologist said it’s normal & not to worry but I feel very disappointed & scared we’ll have nothing by day 5 😔

I have my egg collection scheduled in for Monday - looking at collecting 2/3 eggs 🤞 and with my low AMH that number would be perfect.

Then have the long wait to find out if a transfer will be happening next Saturday (day 5).

@FiddleLeaf well done on the EC. 6 is great! I had my EC yesterday and had 4 retrieved. Got the call from the embryologist and 2 have fertilised. The other 2 weren't mature 😔

Like you, I'm really really hoping at least 1 makes it to day 5. Won't get another call until Wednesday (unless of course it's bad news). The waiting is doing me no good haha.

How are you feeling after the EC? I'm not too bad - slept loads yesterday and just a little uncomfortable at times today, but not needing any pain relief. Hope that continues!

@Gryffindoratheart hope your EC goes well on Monday. I too have low AMH (4.4)!

Hey 👋 @Lebe14 , we just need that one but blimey this waiting is no good for control freaks 😩. I’m due to get a message on Monday (day 3) with progress or they’ll call if they’re concerned about anything. All being well I’ll be back in for the transfer on Wednesday. Are you doing a fresh transfer?

I’m doing ok. My stomach is VERY rounded today, boobs are getting increasingly painful so are practically strapped down in M&S’s most grannyish crop top & tbh, I’m constipated which can’t be helping anything! We start jabbing (lubion progesterone) tonight and I’ve got pessaries twice a day. Sigh!

Glad you’re feeling alright after EC & thanks for the reassurance on my number. I’m trying to stay pretty chilled about it all but it’s so hard!
