AMH and AFC results

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me. I'm 34 and we have been TTC for just 3 months. We thought we'd get private fertility tests just to rule out any problems. My partners sperm is in the high range for everything but morphology which is 5%. My AMH is 9.4 and my AFC was 15. My BMI is 32.7 (actively trying to lose weight!) and blood pressure was 124 over 86. The consultant didn't seem to think any of these were major issues but did say the AMH was on the lower side. Has anyone had similar results and naturally concieved? We are open to IVF later if needed. Thanks!

I don't understand why you have been told your amh is low. For your age it seems in range. Was it in pmol or ng? The AFC is also good... how about your fsh?
3 months are not enough though to think about problems, just to give you a little peace of mind. If you want an advice, don't waste time and do all the check up needed to see if there is anything wrong, after 35 it seems we start to rapidly decrease our chances to get pregnant. I started at 34 and I'm now 35 after 14 months of TTC and it seems my amh is low (2.2pmol should be 0.30ng) and that's low, so if I were you I would not waste any time, I wish I started earlier all the process for IVF, now it could be too late for me.

Thank you for the advice, that is in pmol. Haven't had fsh tested yet, maybe i should? @KoraPersefone

This is what they provided me with. It can't be 4.18ng I don't think as that would be the high range? Confused!

9.4 pmol then. I do not think that is low, it is still in range and not on the lower part (not optimal either but still not that bad). Mine is 2.2pmol at 35 so that is low. Anyway AMH alone means nothing, this is why I asked for FSH. AMH must be associated with FSH. AMH just tells you how many eggs you have left, associated with FSH (quality of the eggs) tells you if you have good eggs yet or not, high FSH usually is usually a bad news (I have an FSH of 12.2 and the max is 12.5) still in range but not optimal. So check yours asap, day 3 of your period.

@KoraPersefone Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I'm a bit annoyed they didn't test for this at the fertility clinic... it was expensive! Did you use an at home testing kit? Hertility looks pretty good?

Usually they do test it but not at the beginning, I've done mine with a home kit yes (doctor something was lol I don't recall now) but yeah still good anyway and yes it was expensive. Where are you in your journey? We have our first appointment next Thursday

@KoraPersefone thank you that's really helpful. We are only on month 3 of ttc, so very early days still. The consultant has said we should be able to get pregnant naturally, so maybe I need to just wait a little bit and keep trying. I have my fertile window down to a tee so I know we are timing it right

I really hope for you you'll be able to get pregnant naturally and avoid the stress of the infertility journey. We always timed right but still anything happened, hope it will be different for you. Yes first appointment I theory to start ivf, but it's the early stage so probably they will conduct some tests first then they will send us to ivf list. It takes time for that :(
